New Unique Wand: Void Battery Theory Craft
" There shouldn't even be a question there is almost never a downside. If anything you have a swap weapon set, put an ele wand on there and use power siphon if you have to. Even without using that tactic though, you only suffer a penalty of -160 (-120 after the + spell power) until you get 3 charges, and each one after the first gets easier to attain. by the 3rd charge you're already up 30% damage, with 6 more charges to go. Personally I see really great things coming out of this wand in 2 different ways. The first is the obvious crit+fire/ice/lightning witches, the second would be swap weps for a wander to pump out some huge damage with a spell of choice once at 7 power charges w/ PCoC on it, to get to the 9 charges and blow some stuff up. I assume you'd lose the extra 2 PCs once you switch back, but it still might be viable. Either way, 2-3 power charges is hardly a downside, I'd only get a max of 150% crit chance here from passives, because as my math above says, you'll end up with 62% crit base from hitting 9 PCs. It can be interesting with a Power syphon + Discharge build.
You can build up the charges with PS, since its attack, not cast, and when ready, discharge the F**K out of everything. Also if CI+ Vaal Packt you dont have to worry about reflect either. Guess i would do it with moonsorrow in the other hand. Edit: only thing im not sure, if its worth to complicate the PS build with it, or its just simpler and not less effective without it. " Vaal pack leech is applied before reflect, If you were to crit a reflect mob that would 1 shot you at full es, you will leech nothing and then get 1 shotted by the said reflect. Also Vaal pack is located in a place very very far from es or spell casting in general. Unless you plan to spend like 20 points just to get there I would not touch it. Also power siphon require you to actually hit, with accuracy. Even a dedicated power siphon user will have a hard time reaching 85% accuracy in maps without good gear. You as a spell caster ... don't even bother. It is also not very practical to switch weapons. Each swap takes about 1 sec, basically a self stun, switching back and forth takes 2 seconds. Duration this time you can not move, can not leech (and no leech in power siphon mode), need to face tank incoming mobs and basically not doing anything productive other than keeping your charges up. While you do get much stronger after you finish the setup, a normal caster will already be moving on to the next group. If you want to make good use of power charge, use ice spear. It has a innate 45% chance to crit assuming you positioned yourself correctly, a very high base chance of 7%, and actually freezes your enemies so you aren't face tanking the mobs while you power up your charges. Also since you are already a caster, it will actually do some damage as well. IGN Vermillionillusion
