I am having similar issues since one of the patches after Betrayal release.
Everything is fine when in hideout or town, but as soon as I start killing stuff, it's like my fps drops from 144 to 10 over a span of 5-10 seconds, and then the game tries to "catch up" at 300% speed. My latency is low, although I notice some spikes from 60 to 80-100ms.

Something like that happened in 3.4 as well when I was using Vaal skellies on my summoner (To be fair though, I did have a lot of minions). It didn't last though and eventually got better for some reason.

I started playing Betrayal with a CWDT build and thought, okay, there are a lot of special effects and stuff being triggered so maybe it's my own fault for playing this build, but the same issue happens no matter what skill I use.

I am currently using:
I7-7700k
GTX1080ti
16gb ram
Playing at 2k native resolution
500mb fiber internet

I have tried:
- Changing in-game settings (vsync, resolution, quality, shadows, AA, etc)
- Going to nVidia panel and manually setting options (power, performance)
- Changing gateway, using a VPN/tunneling program
- Setting program to "real time" in task manager, running as admin
- Running DX9, 9EX and 11 versions of the game client.
- Disabling all microtransactions (T.T)

PoE seems to be using 30% of my CPU, 2.5-3.5gb vram and 95% of my GPU according to task manager.

Not sure if you guys are having the same issues but there is definitely something going on. Guild members are all having similar issues.

This issue is currently ruining my experience of this game, and I will not continue to play it until it is fixed. Please look into this issue, GGG.

This topic does not concern problems with connection and ping only problems with FPS and freez drops.
