FPS and Frame Time Spikes

I think the reason for the lags is that so many players playing this game since 3.5. At Night i´ve had not so many problems with lag spikes.
GGG must do something to get this work again
Not sure if it will help anyone else, but I did notice that since 3.5 (maybe Betrayal) it switched the Network option to 'Automatic'. I switched it to Predictive instead of Lockstep and it fixed my FPS issues. Not sure why Lockstep would give me issues all of a sudden, but I can play again.

Same issue.

I posted a long winded reply somewhere else about this on the forums. In short, please just respond at the least ffs... Clearly many people are being affected by something you guys did with the last patch.

Talk about blowing your chance to impress Diablo players. Maybe you shouldn't have jumped on that Diablo Immortal debacle by stating that you guys have a new expansion and a great game waiting over here, huh?

Yup, as long people keep buying supporter packs and all the cosmetics there is, nothing is being done as they still keep their sales and loosing a minimum of players that have these issues doesn't really matter to them. Just another company gone greedy tbh, they stopped answering my technical issues months ago.

Guess we have to survive the performance problems for now, no more MTX purchases from me until they fix this :)

yep, wanted to buy the latest packs but really don't want to continue support if glaring issues like these effecting even the smallest subset of users go not only unresolved, but ignored too.

When i play with Predictive i get sometimes massiv rubberbanding
Game has been seriously unstable for me since 3.5. A lot of stuttering going on which I presume has to do with the game servers because all my other games are running fine.
Having a similar problem. However, even though it appears that my frames are dropping...what is actually happening is my ping is spiking through the roof and it causes my game to stutter creating the illusion of fps spikes.

I am having no other network issues in other games, just PoE currently.

I'm going to keep posting here to continue to bump this thread until we get a reply. But, I'll try to do so in a constructive manner... even though it seems based on my personal experience and the lamenting I've read from other players here on these forums about GGG not caring anymore.

Hopefully the following info helps someone (even if it's to come to the same conclusion as myself; which is to not play this game right now), or maybe it can lead to some kind of solution. I am terrible at networking problems, so I can't help much outside of simply explaining the issue in detail.

- This all started with the release of Betrayal, but got noticeably worse with the release of patch 3.5.0d on December 17.

- The issue across the board seem to be massive ping spikes happening in a stuttering, quick succession manner that last 5-10 seconds at a time and are persistent throughout the day, despite time of day (for most).

- This is clearly only affecting certain people for some reason, but ALL gateways are affected by the same problem.

- One person here noted that there was an addition to the game graphically, call Sunshadow Quality, that they felt may have some correlation to the latency spikes even though this was only a graphical change, this could just be coincidence though. But, ther is no way to turn this off completely to see if getting rid of it helps anything.

- There is some confusion on this thread however between latency and FPS drops. I'm starting to believe (as was stated by someone else here) that the FPS drops / stuttering and even the disconnects are all part of the same larger issue which is some sort of latency lag spikes. There is obvious relations between FPS and Frame Time. For one, visually they are almost identical. However, I think it's important to note that when monitoring these things in game it is clear that all three (Frame Time, Latency and FPS) seem to take a hits at the same time. Below is an image to showcase this.

- Lastly, everyone seems to state the same thing in regards to this only happening with Path of Exile and absolutely no other game, app, app device, website, etc.

Hopefully you guys at GGG can at the very least post one single sentence here on this thread about the issue. Also, hopefully someone else can maybe do some detective work and see if they come up with something. Most likely there's nothing we can do about it on our end, but you never know.

Thats true.. when i´m playing late at Night I have much less problems with Spikes and FPS. Less people playing = less Problems. So, it´s on GGG to do something I think.
I have exactly the same problem. It's GGG & not one word from them. I've seen threads here 30 pages long. No response.

We are almost on our own. EXCEPT I WILL NOT SPEND ONE FREAKING DIME ON THIS GAME. If it's fixed for a month I will reconsider.
