Having to purchase red maps, vaal & alch orbs
Map rate I believe is intended to be thin. That's what gives them value, and thats what makes you money when RNG is in your favor. It is like gambling too--I was out of red maps multiple times, then I bought one or two...Eventually the one or two turned into a full page of red maps that I sold for multiple exalts.
If you're a gambling man you want to spend 15C on T15 map and hopefully find 2... etc. And if you want to go high stakes invest 3-5C zana mod. Same as always but especially this league as others have said-- No loot explosion league mechanics this time. The Yellow Beasts are dropping maps more with the buff... But the value of maps is gradually falling (as usual) as the league progresses. So that's either good or bad depending how you look at it. |

" And our hero we were waiting for is here. You forgot to mention Bestiary mirror recipe. It used to take a real mirror to copy map before #Just1000hElitePlayerThing /s At this state poe is a game i wouldn't bother with. It took me few tries to find poe interesting and that happen during breach league (like for most of current playerbase breach-legacy-harbinger). I don't enjoy spending most of my playing time trying to sustain maps. Picking up tons of rares for alch shard and chaos recipe should not be mandatory to sustain maps (at least trying to sustain maps because it's not guaranteed that you will get you map back after chiseling, rerolling and zana mod). I can accept grinding nature of POE, but there is a limit to what is fun and what is stupid, boring and frustrating. 3000 burial chamber map for HH is good example of "good grind". Bothering to sustain one map you like and spending most of time dealing with dropped rare items and chaos recipe is example of "stupid grind". Hey look, i reached end game in one week playing SSF Since im so good i should be able to do whatever i want and have fun, right? Nope. Can't sustain shaped tier 11 map. Running random maps from 11 to 15(16) is not fun in my opinion. In fact i wasn't even able to sustain shaped burial chambers map in trading league and run out after like 200 maps losing all currency i had for zana mods (RNG much fun) For now i vote with my wallet. Another shitty league (league itself is ok but map RNG is retarded) = no more money from me. Dernière édition par karoollll2534#2874, le 27 mars 2018 à 01:42:03

This is a measure to counter the increased ways to boost map MF. And the more they introduce, the worse it will get. Honestly sextants and Elder and all the past leagues they've rolled into this game have made it impossible to grow maps let alone currency.
Think about it. If they gave the same rewards, how much more would people get when they sextant (remember sextant blocking was just a thing too), fragged, applied breaches, and had things like abyssal rifts spawn in the map. It would be raining down loot. So they had to nerf the baseline values. Which means the only way to get back the old drop rates is to chisel, alch, vaal, sextant, frag and hope you get a breach and an abyss... all on an Elder or Shaper influenced map. I mean there is no way GGG was going to give us more stuff after all of that. They have always been of the mindset to rob people of anything to keep them playing. That's exemplified by all these new league mechanics that have so much RNG layers it makes you nauseous. This is what the game is now. If you just chisel and alch, be prepared to basically end up doing endless T11-13 and slowly but surely watch your currency stagnate. Maybe in 6 months you'll find an exalt or a couple of divines. Deliver pain exquisite

" Look at this guy. He not only wants to sustain red maps, oh no, he wants to sustain exactly the map he wants and complains when he needs to run another(red mind you) maps. Hilarious. |

" How is standard different? I had 200 alch 2 weeks ago, I alched 200+ maps and now I am at 0 alchs Standard in that matter is way worse because you do not have the loot pinata from temp league. Poe Pvp experience

No one here believes you ran 200 maps and didn't get an alch. No one.

I felt this pretty hard in early mapping, but after completing 2/3 of the Atlas it was a lot better. I don't chain the same map hundreds of times, I just play whatever is influenced by shaper/ elder, trying to make that fucking circle for fun etc

The fact remains that the actual in-game drop rates for maps is terrible in this league.
I'm finding it absolutely miserable mapping. Now, considering that mapping is the "end game" and there's nothing else to do aside from lab running, that means that in effect my only recourse is to endlessly grind out chaos recipes to buy more maps or to make more characters. Yes, there are many valid theories as to WHY map drops are so abysmal. Theories such as density changes, reductions in abyssal mobs from last league, etc etc. None of the theories or the "why's" counter the fact that the last major activity designed for long term play on all characters is to play maps, and therefore it is crucial to be able to farm map drops. So, when those self same map drops are rare than finding a one legged unicorn then it makes the "end game" completely broken for the majority of players. Quite simply, it needs fixing, and it needs fixing as a major priority. Forget about the numerous dodgy "why's". It's broken, fix it. Otherwise, what else are we supposed to do at level 80+ ??? There are no other activities barring running merc lab all day (not uber, as you need to do maps to get the unlocks). My own personal theory is that the manner of the introduction of nets "broke" many things. My suspicion is that the nets weren't mathematically added to the drop rate chance table, instead they were integrated into it and replaced the drop chances of other things such as alcs, maps, etc. I think that an easy option was chosen introducing a new class of item, rather than a harder mathematical option. Instead of leaving the drop chances of the other items alone and simply adding onto that the chance of a net dropping, they replaced the chances of other items dropping and merged in the chances of nets dropping. The cumulative effect of that was that nets dropped at an insane rate everywhere you kill, yet those other items were reduced drastically and replaced by those self same nets. That's my theory anyway. Look at how many nets drop during the average map run. It's ridiculous right? Now, for every net that drops, imagine that instead being the chance of a decent currency item or a map. You get the picture. It needs fixing asap. Instead of spending hours and hours on the next set of mtx, how about fixing some of the fundamental problems in the game please? I loved Path of Exile.
I do not love Path of RNG. Bloom gives me migraines, the over usage of darkness strains my eyes. Save our game, remove all of the constant RNG and allow us to turn off Bloom or give us an in game brightness control! |

" Pretty much this. (Selffound) Mapping has barriers to overcome, there will be dark times when you completely run out of "progression", feel like banging your head against a wall. But after a while, if you are persistent, good things will happen, you slowly but surely climb in tiers, and after a while, the completion bonus starts to work in your favor. There will be lots of maps that return nothing, sure, but there will also be "good maps": Eventually you'll run a corrupted t15 and get something like "3 t11, 1 t12, 2 t15, 2 t16" back. You run them, most will be disappointing, but one of the t16 will again drop half a dozen red maps, and your journey continues. You may not have "endless shaped x", not even "endless whatever map of tier x" (that's getting harder the higher your x is). But you'll have "endless red maps" at some point. Even without vaal, frags, sextants, Zana mods, elder portals (I don't abuse any of this and still do fine). Trade and horizon/harbinger orbs speed up the process, of course. 3.5 build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2299519
