Specific Helmet Enchants you want are too difficult to obtain

GGG wants it to be hard to gear, if they just gave you the enchant you wanted, it wouldn't be worth shit.

He's obviously not speaking about a Rat's Nest or a Devoto, but about a rare helmet fitting his specific build.
Helmet enchantment has always been weirdly balanced, and it's getting worse every time new gems are introduced.
You're meant to trade for it.

bought a white base and crafted with alterations and regals exactly for my needs: high int + life + high fire resist, since there was no sunder damage helmet with those stats on poe.trade.
+1 minion is an unfortunate yolo exalt.

so if you need 3 exact stats on helmet you can try crafting yourself, and with a bit of luck, you can be successful.

The problem is that you can only buy enchantments on popular helmets. When you want to experiment with some unique helmet that is not commonly use then you're screwed because no lab runners are enchanting the helmets so you can't ever get the enchantment you need.

This system greatly favors common builds with commonly used helmets but badly hurts build variety and experimenting with different options.

The enchant itself will never be 1c and never be that cheap. If you also tack on an exalt cost (or two exalts) that makes it expensive enough. The idea is sound, just numbers need tweaking. It still forces you to trade for enchants, but it also makes it not nearly as fucking hard.

The enchant itself will never be 1c and never be that cheap. If you also tack on an exalt cost (or two exalts) that makes it expensive enough. The idea is sound, just numbers need tweaking. It still forces you to trade for enchants, but it also makes it not nearly as fucking hard.


My point is it wouldn't matter what you got sunder damage on, it'd be worth the same on any helmet which then makes it valueless and provides access to power creep way too easily.

I mean, isn't that what we already have with enchants like +2 tornado shot? Shit's godly on any helm no matter what. Not really sure how it's 'easy' to get when someone still had to roll a 1 out of 300+ mods.
