Remove Chaos Immunity From Chaos Inoculation
I agree with the commentary that CI isn't the OP thing in the current defense equation and removing the immunity gets rid of the theme (Inoculation).
The problem continues to be: - GR (minorly, ZO) - VP Blue Life shouldn't exist and instant leech shouldn't exist. GGG didn't care about this all through 1.X and 2.X. Who knows if 3.0 is actually gonna change anything. The commentary on removing life gain from strength (and making it armor% gain from strength) is super interesting, but that issue is an even older one (very much pre 1.0) that GGG also doesn't care about. |

making armor and evasion effective vs all kind of damage is the best buff life can get right now. That will leave us with ES as the high hitpoint option and life with armor/eva as the lower hitpoints but higher mitigation option.
numbers may need a check but would aim to this: +1 to max ele ress and +10% to chaos ress every 10k armor take 1% less damage every 4000 eva self found league fan

" That wouldn't be a good idea, because if all 3 options protect against everything 2 of them are useless. Because it doesn't matter if you have 4.000 HP and mitigate 50% of all damage or you have 8.000 and mitigate nothing, although of course the lower pool has the advantage of leeching more. Right now Armor and Evasion have downsides, which is a good thing because it makes them different and desirable in certain situations, however ES lacks that. There is a fair argument that exspecially evasion has to dig a bit too deep into strength to find some supplements for its biggest weakness but overall they work decently. There are only small changes required to fix Evasion and Armor, the rest is up to look at some boss abilities or map mods and such elements that punish specific defenses way too hard while being trivilized by others. A good example in terms of CI is that there are now for some reason enemies using Essence drain... which is a bit odd, those are not too hard for most life based builds, but having them makes hardly sense considering you can completly ignore them with Immunity or 75% Chaos res, because as it seems Chaos Damage is not balanced around the player having 75% chaos res, but a lower value, so having 75% resistance makes those pure chaos damage sources a non issue and CI does even more so. |

I though OP meant that instead of "1 life, immune to chaos" CI should be "no change to life, chaos doesn't bypass ES".
And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.

You don't ( unless you cannot build your char properly, that is ). This statement excludes volatiles, volatiles just allow the stars to align purely on elemental damage too much ... :/. That said, ES has almost no downsides / counters, and that is not a healthy thing for the game imho. Totally agree with this idea! Would also allow GGG to actually bring out some content with seriously threatening chaos damage. Immunities in games really limit design space.
Found it quite hilarious when they released chayula and she dealt mostly physical damage with a sprinkling of chaos (because it would be crazy for CI charas to be immune to a boss) 21/05/18 - The beginning of the end of PoE
