Why are cosmetics SO expensive?

mtx's are waaaaay to expensive.

I bought some supporter packs over the years, but now I feel like I wasted my money. I should just stick to 1 big one or 2 small ones and dont spend more than 60 bucks on this game. Its a price of a very expensive brand new AAA game, and I think that enough.

We all can see the GGG greediness now days, for example the release of the new armor set and 2 new wings attachment. the armor is like 420 points and wings are 320 points each !really GGG, really ???

I'm sure that micro transactions dont have "micro" in the name by accident. If GGG would lower the price for their shit to be more in line with what "micro transactions" are meant to be I'm sure they would make the same amount or money or more on quantity over steep pricing.

They will milk you more, making more new currency to add new carrency tabs. Their prices are acceptable, though, barely, but yeah, especially with a discount. But armours prices, omg. Should be 15$ tops.

how many armor pieces do you need? would you buy 5 for ggg to have the same amount of support if they made it cheaper?

I've been using my vampire armor set(minus helmet yuck lol) on all of my casters for over two and a half years.

I consider that good value for money.

Expensive depends on a lot of factors, people say it's the same price as an AAA tittle and they are correct(though daily deals cut of a lot on the bigger expenses), however an AAA tittle nowadays would bring me perhaps 50 hours of fun? This armor (among others) has given me enjoyment well over 800+ hours.

Charan is also correct that the mtx's are just there to spend your GGGold on. You support the development and continuation of the game and as a result they give you some boni stuff to spend pixel money on at will.
Get a support pack which comes at the same price of an AAA tittle, enjoy a game that exceeds an AAA tittle's duration if your in-to it, get some bonus limited mtx's(which are usually nice, though depends on flavor) and get some bonus to purchase whatever tickles your fancy.

At least that's how i can sleep at night.

not to mention that most supporter packs have an armorset included and you get enough points in an lets say 50$ pack to buy a 2nd armor set of your choice.
So imo you only get a "good/fair or atleast for me affordable " "value" out of it.
spending the amount of an AAA titel on PoE every 3 month? somtimes longer when i play it over 100-150 hours in that time,just feels right for me.

I feel it same way: once or twice looked at mtx prices and never looked back.

But: lately checked for discharge cosmetic as its quite obvious that Discharge spell asks for buying cosmetic.

I have little insider knowledge of markets, but it has always been my impression that reaching out to a large costumer base for small amounts yields far more than finding a few that are willing to whale it up. Maybe you should ask coca cola or blizzard.

It is also my impression that the counter reaction seen by many high end supporters is a natural psychological effect to protect againt the realization that they have grossly overspent, and as such are fools. The mind always tries to create the reality in which everything you do is part of a greater purpose in which you are fully in balance with, especially when it comes to your mistakes. When that image breaks, it brings out the raw nature of peoples mindstate. I also am a fool, but at least i don't regret. I never regret, as everything happens for a reason, even if that only being a lesson, and i didnt indebt myself to buy things.

Imagine if GGG shifted their market strategy - that would only be possible without paying anyone real money for past purchases that are now cheaper. That would case an outroar from people, there are so many selfish people who start crying hardcore much when money is involved and they think they can get a piece of the pie. They will make threats, they will act higely disrespectful in trying to gey some money. They would try to hurt ggg to get their way, also public shaming. It would happen 100%, and yet improments for the future benefit of all cannot be halted by people who are stuck in their petty emotions.

My point is that if you want the best, you cannot be controlled by those who misunderstand you.

Just ask ggg about sales of supporter packs since they lowered the prices by almost half the price. Be surprised if it didnt improve. Id also say that the sheer amount of effects now available justifies a much lower price.

I have one piece I liked most, it was on discount to 270. I hated to pay so much, but I treated is like a support for new expansion back then. If amours were for 100-150 points I would buy 2 or 3 another sets I like, probably not all at once, but each new bigger expansion something new if I get bored wearing same skin all the time.
