SSF - Divination cards rant
" I can't say exactly but iirc in around 24 hours of farming the harvest quite casually on and off (popping in for an hour or two then going about my general mapping) produced something like. 8/9 The Hunger 20/12 The Hoarder 3/8 The Aesthete 1/8 The Offering 1 Exalted orb drop 1 Kaom's Heart drop Other cards and shit like The Oath, Dooder Madness, chaos orbs, other currencies. I only popped in the first time to get some chaos recipe items to substitute into regal recipes when playing primarily in 75+ maps. Clearing to Shavronne just on the chance she might drop her cards. While Shavronne isn't worth it (Scriptorium is 1,000 times better) I was intrigued when I dropped a Hoarder and a Hunger within a few runs. Turns out that while you may well do several runs without seeing them, they are a lot higher drop than I expected and if you have other reasons to be there, it's kinda a good zone. As always, open boxes/clickables. Casually casual. Dernière édition par TheAnuhart#4741, le 15 mars 2017 à 12:11:17

I've target farmed some cards on a couple of occasions because stubborn, and it wasn't pretty.
Even if we disregard the drop rate, there are a few problems with the concept. Consistently farming one or two maps over and over is not really feasible without buying them, well, maybe if you shape your entire atlas around farming one item, which is a bit out there. The problem with farming non-map areas is twofold, drop penalty is one and the fact most campaign locations are godawful for farming is the other, hell, marketplace probably has twenty monsters in total, maybe thirty. So yeah, best to forget about it unless you're already doing that area a lot for whatever reason. I think they did say back then they're 'adding a way to target farm certain items', it's exactly that on concept level so they didn't lie and some other games do use it that way, but the way it's implemented here it's just a market buff. So yeah, 'divination cards are a deterministic farming method' is not a lie, but 'we expect a random player will do it' would be balderdash. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

" Thanks. " With knowledge (drop odds and Atlas shaping), dedication and planning (Atlas shaping) some Divination cards can be very helpful. If you lack even one of those 3 it can be quite futile and/or frustrating though. Im currently going for: Have already and using it, may get more if need Divines: Rumi may be useful - looks like they increased the drop odds for this one or at least didnt nerf: This is easy to farm and gives 1 point for Atlas completion: No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

" I think you need some math money back... :-p Deterministic means I can say that if I do 'this' for 100 hours, then 'that' will happen. You can't do that for divination cards. They're probabilistic, but not deterministic. |

This is my stash of DC's in standard. I've traded in some of the more common ones, but never gotten enough cards for any of there rarer ones... I've played quite a bit...
DC's are long-term rewards, not 'deterministic' farming material...

" It's a local convention, around here we use 'deterministic' for 'a bit less probabilistic'. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

I have been farming . It drops in the fetid pool. After many hours I had 2 cards. Then the drops stopped. For days. (I play a few hours a day.) I gave up and tried the marshes map. Only 2 maps later I had 2 other drops and could get
Breaches in a IIQ map helps a lot and give a lot of divination cards. Somehow I got a lot of them from chests too. So my tip would be to give up getting the cards from normal instances, but use maps with high IIQ rolls and with breach league stones. | |
" After 6 hours I had 1 card. Then I migrated my witch from SSF. Didn't want to spend 24+ hours of playtime in fetid pool, to get a 1 chaos unique. I think a +100-500% droprate increase on some divination cards wouldn't hurt the game at all. GGG could just look at market prices, and adjust the droprates accordingly. There's no reason to gate cheap uniques behind such a boring grind. Also: "Rain of chaos" needs to go. 8 cards for 1 chaos? You call that a rain? 3.5 build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2299519

I've come to realize that div cards weren't implemented for SSF/deterministic farming. They were implemented to clog your stash to get you to buy more tabs. Or, to buy a new, specialized tab. Look at leagues, there's some kind of new, item added to the game. Talismans, Essences The most recent is even worse because they removed the functionality from Zana, and turned it into stash clutter - league stones.

" Yeah, and that's probably the weighing reason they have to implement Leaguestones as core mechanic in game. It has all become a clusterfuck. |
