Faster level 100 + ladder improvements = more and longer joy

PoE leveling system is like a carbon copy of Diablo 2, it just works in different ways. D2 made last few levels to require exponentially more exp required, PoE has a severe penalty in exp gain since content level max out at only 82.

That being said it's still easier to reach top level in PoE than in Diablo 2.

So GGG seem to want to preserve the while Diablo 2 vibe as much as possible.
The real hardcore PoE players and the elites sit in town and zoning in and out of their hideouts trading items. Noobs that don't know how to play PoE correctly, kill monsters for items. It's pure fact, it will never change.

Welcome to PoE.
Nobody is forcing you to make it to 100. The grind to 100 isn't even bad compared to older games Korean mmos. I hope ggg doesn't try to appeal to gamers such as yourself because there isn't any winning you'll always complain about something

Also they have made small changes making 100 easier. The gearing process has gotten easier and the Zana changes helps with map pool

I just remembered that I suggested better drop rates a year or so ago and people came up with the same invalid arguments - if people got top gear too easly the game would become boring fast and people would stop playing.

Now we have Perandus and the league is way more entertaining and the number of active players way higher over a longer period of time - just because it enables more people to access more content, have more builds, have more fun ( but I have a feeling the 24/7 players dont want other players to be granted that content for whichever reason ).

-- And no one is crying that the game should have even more loot than Perandus -- they just enjoy it and say its the best league ever and play the game weeks longer than normal

Same applies to reaching level cap. If more players could reach max level and could thus play the actual end game content ( which actually is fun ) it would just keep them playing instead of dumping the game after a week or so cause being stuck at level 10 maps is just boring.

-- And no one would be crying that the game should have even more levels than 100 --

But I am done with suggesting improvements to conservative prejudiced people. Its not like testing something for a league would break the game. Ultimatly it would just be a completely different league for a limited amount of time.

However I should just let go as soon as a game becomes boring. The next better game will come anyways.

You are not supposed to reach level 100. It was purposely made to be ridiculous.

What you want (People to spend more time on other builds and theorycrafting) is achieved by having level 100 really really hard to obtain. People will be masochistic if they try to get there, and in turn will instead get tired of a character and focus their efforts on a new one.

I think if anything the leveling in PoE is spot on.

Also, not many people get stuck at level 10 maps lol. Hell, MOST people don't even make it to maps.
And you don't need level 100 to do endgame content..what kind of build are you making???

The amount of people who leave the game because they get stuck in maps and cannot reach max level is very very very very very small. This is not an issue really.

You can do pretty much all content around level 85, which is really easy to obtain. This is also when I usually make a new character.

PoE is not your classic MMO in which you need max level to do stuff.

LOL WAT.

"Leveling to 100 takes too long" meanwhile people hit 100 like its a joke within a week. People hit 90 in 16 hours.
Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in!

Labyrinth salt farm miner.

"But my build diversity" , "Game is too hard!" - Meta drone playing the same 1-3 builds for years.

- The ladder should be based on time played ( "/played" ) so at any time into the league people can reach top place by creating the most efficient / most op build of the league which replaces the boring level 90 - 100 grind
- The first to reach level 100 can still be rewarded with a unique prize

This would be great! Just like the Labyrinth ladder now, that way it remains a competition all league long and being number 1 on ladder isn't just about who puts the most raw hours in. You don't need to wait for races to race, you would be able race to 100 whenever you want and still have your time count toward the ladder, even if you didn't start the very first second the League began.
I don't like people trying to force me into buying an actual whip.

Yes, i'm that cheap.

ITT: Person that doesn't understand that not every facet of every game is custom tailored to exactly their play style.

We get it you want to feel special 'cause you have a nice round 100 for your level and have an extra 10 passive points, but it'd be a massive cockslap to the face for anyone that puts in full time job+ levels of time into PoE. That is their main form of progression, long after they have builds that can faceroll T15 maps.

So no, it's not going to happen.
But you only got to 91, 95-100 is where things get interesting :D
