Either increase the area level of labrynth , OR decrease izaro difficulty (merciless)
It is misleading to be a in a level 68 area and then face a boss with the equivilent difficulty of a ~level 75 area.
Also, if labs are suppose to be an alternative end game, 68 is not high enough. Maybe make it 72? Basically, I think the area level is too low compared to izaro / or as an end game alternative. You can't really compare Izaro to map bosses... There are t10 bosses that are incredibly easy compared to Izaro (Plateau boss). Merciless Malachai is also far more difficult than many map bosses.
Now, I could get behind a suggestion to have higher level labyrinths. I'd prefer a system where once you completed the 68 lab, you could do it at 69, and then 70 once you did 69, and so on. The max level could be 75 or something, it doesn't really matter. That would be nice. |

For some lower level content in PoE you need a higher level. For some higher content you can have a lower level.
Saying Izaro is for his level to hard is like saying Atziri on Lv70 is too hard. Or that you cannot facetank Museum boss with level 68. (At least most builds) Welcome to the greatest of arenas, Duelist. God is watching you.

We're stuck with f'ckin bad trade chat, act 4 bad boss battles, low high tier map drops, and now Merc Lab is forever stuck at level 68. GGG will always say it's working as intended. If majoity hates game features that are "working as intended" then GGG should do the right thing and fix that which we hate. Im not having trouble with the monsters or izaro. I just think the area level should be higher.

I agree that, for a new player, it must be confusing. Labyrinth is totally integrated to the storyline as a quest, but if you're trying to do it right after act 3, you're in a bad spot. Maybe it would be better if lab level stayed the same, but unlocked only after killing Malachai in the current difficulty. That would also give a reason to kill Malachai merciless.
Overall, I like the lab idea but the way we're introduced to it doesn't seem right. |
