Yes, but they assume I don't. Probably a good assumption, generally speaking.

In any case, I actually go to the casino about once a month or so and play slots. Pretty often. Even though it's a decent drive away, they have the cheapest cartons of cigarettes in the area, and also offer $7 in slot machine credit per carton. Yes, I researched the odds on the machines; one has 1:2.33 combined payout odds, which means I get $2.10 out of that $7 on average. Which just about covers the gas, and they have free soda, too. Obviously, I never put 1¢ of real money into the one-armed bandits.

cheating is cheating... there is no "half-cheating" or "minor cheating".
the argument "you can't do anything against" goes for chicken scripts and other forms of cheating too, if that's your only argument then I think you have none...

the differences are:

1) moral one, i see nothing morally wrong with cross realm trading, while its much more "wrong" to use hacks. so yes theres "minor cheating", same as there are white lies and black lies. its not the same to steal 10$ and to shoot someone and should not be punished in the same way

2) the fact that hacks can be detected, while jsp cant. its pretty safe to use as long as you dont make a retarded mistake, and the richest players dont make that kind of mistakes. by banning jsp use, you will just catch the smallest fish, while the big one will profit much more than you imagine. basically YOU are the one that has only one argument, and that is that encouraging cross-realm trading will encourage the people to do it. its pretty much just a question what % of rich standard players does it anyway, and i think that % is too damn high

Why do people risk their accounts? Because it has a huge impact. Starting with multiple exalts in the back pocket while everybody else starts with nothing is probably the biggest cheat of all.

PS: People were already streaming with chicken script enabled... guess what happend? Nothing.
But on the other hand... they already have banned people for rmt & cheating. It's hard to fight scum and easy to allow shit - but doing something is still better than allow any form of cheating.

OT: I guess you need absolution for doing x-league trading with d2jsp already?

After extensive player feedback and internal discussion, we are disallowing cross-league trading between the long-term (Standard/Hardcore) leagues and the challenge leagues (Warbands and Tempest). You can still perform cross-league trades (at your own risk) between a league and its hardcore version (Standard to Hardcore, Hardcore to Standard, Warbands to Tempest or Tempest to Warbands).

We feel that allowing people to trade prior gametime into advantage in the new three-month leagues is an advantage akin to RMT.

This policy may change in the future, for example disallowing all cross-league trading entirely.

Edit: The same applies to race events. You can't trade items into a one-week race for example.

hm. thanks. didnt expect it to be an actual quote from the chris about this thing...oh well! from all the stuff i read here, it seems im not the first one to suggest this thing. but i still think jsp is a bigger evil than cross-league trading. and i dont mean a couple of guys who crosstrade a few exalts, i mean the whole jsp in poe thing
JSP really isn't that bad. If you read through the forums there you can see that the number of fucktrumpets who use it for trading against the TOS is pretty small compared the active playerbase.

Compare it to the RMT websites, think about the impact of 24/7 bot farming Dried Lake for chaos orb recipe, and then ponder the consistent massive drop-off in value for chaos orbs we have in every temp league.

i agree...i mean! i dont mind the idea of cross-realm trading, as its obvious by my suggestion here. i also dont think its morally wrong in any way to cross-trade. i mean sure, if someone is rich enough to afford an exalt in a new temp league with 1:20 ratio to his std exalts...why the fuck not? its not just gonna give him the edge, its gonna give the temp starter the edge because hey, 20 exalts, yay?

the thing i hate about jsp is that the most worthless people get the most, people like nfaguar (for those not familiar, its the jsp admin) and rmters. so instead of banning people that have done nothing wrong, why not simply fuck up those who are actually doing the bad stuff? and do that by simply removing the potential customers in a clean way like i suggested!

unfortunately theres so much salt here, within the realm of "OMG I WANT A FRESH ECONOMY NO RICH PPL ETC". well fuck you. havent people realized that its a two-way agreement? they arent the only ones that profit, people that start the league and get 20 ex for 1 also profit. and why did chris even agree to this? imo this whole thing is just wrong, but no reason to argue, the moment i saw chris succumb to this fanboying was the moment i gave up on my idea
I strongly disagree.

I mention this only because I got the vague impression from your reply that you think I support it.

yeah, just let usain bolt start 10 meter in front of everybody because he has previously won enough trophys to afford this boost... it's not like this gives him the edge to level 100 32/32 errr... the 100m line.
the biggest selling point for new leagues is... a new start. why don't you get that this idea undermines exactly this. almost the whole reason for new leagues... ôO

ps: chris didn't agree with an idea of some fanboys... fanboys agree with Chris' idea. xX
