For the love of god... (another pants thread)
" If you are some kind of nudist and don't need pants I can respect that, nothing wrong with you, nothing wrong with us. But one thing is for sure - the majority of us likes pants. Seen the video in the OP? Even that baseball player is weirded out by the appearance of the witch. |

You know, the templar probably just forgot to put on his pants when he woke up...
...jokes aside, personally I think the templar is one of the best, non-stereotypical player avatars I have ever encountered. Old, bald, bearded man, lefthanded, and wearing a toga? Also clearly a nutty religious fanatist, foaming at his mouth. I love the pantless guy, please keep him as he is. The plan is simple: win! If you do not win, you did not follow the plan

Really, you consider anyone not wearing pants a nudist? Six-page thread about ...pants. What a purist.

" Even if he didn't cause me disgust, even then, I would be asking for pants because I have even seen people quitting over the lack of pants or not trying this game at all, shunning it for its pantslessness. I think that you should as well, even if you believe that these people are shallow etc and don't belong here etc (like others have stated in the past), they are still potential customers being repulsed like that guy on the video! Non-stereotypical is good. But if, for example, what makes you non-stereotypical also makes you look like a pervert, I would choose stereotypical any day... I have no objections about him wearing a toga. But what about later when he wears armors, robes etc and is STILL pantsless? It's like it is his lifestyle, like a sworn pervert or something. " Just semi-joking. But I think that saying "what's wrong with you?" to someone who just asks for pants is a tad... problematic. Dernière édition par RestInPieces#6294, le 14 août 2015 à 12:21:39

" First of all, you have no right to tell me what I should think or not. Second, I don't believe these people are shallow, or neither do they offend me, I just make it visible that there are other opinions and views than your own about this out there. However, I do feel that if people are quitting a game over a pantless (non naked) old guy, then maybe they should look at their reasons for being offended, and not try to change something other people like. " Where in the world do you live, where a game character wearing a toga makes you associate it with beeing a pervert? The plan is simple: win! If you do not win, you did not follow the plan

" I didn't put a gun on your head saying what you should think, I merely state my opinion like you - that much should be obvious and surely it is no reason for you to get offended. So... you don't feel they are shallow, you feel they are too conservative. Ok. Whatever they/we are, I am just stating the fact that people are repulsed by this. I cannot change anything myself, but I can state this fact to GGG and complain about something which is negative for a portion of its playerbase - I do have the right to do that, don't I? Where am I from... Hint - our ancients also wore togas but the togas did cover their legs. I am not 100% serious by calling him a pervert but it still is repulsive. Nothing wrong with showing a little skin in real life etc but a fighting templar confronting the beast with armor and naked legs is a little bit ridiculous. Might as well go in with a clown costume. I have a youtube link in the OP. Did you see that american athlete's reaction to the pantlessness of the witch? Is it because he is too conservative? What do you think? " You think that more armor gives you better ability to fight? Wrong. Fighting something twice as big as you is ridiculous in the first place. Don't question it. |

" I just don't get the repulsive part, sorry :) " Well I have watched it now, and I certainly did not get the awkwardness you seem to get from that, to me it seemed more like a chill comment on Chris wearing full armour, and he still in is early game rags. Look, I am not trying to say you are wrong in giving your feedback, maybe I am just trying to understand how people can be offended enough to quit a game over it? To me a half naked old guy going into battle with a stick is no more ridiculus than an armour clad shadow shooting lightning from his knife, POE is half built on ridiculeness in my opinion, and is better for it... The plan is simple: win! If you do not win, you did not follow the plan

" When I say that people are quitting over it or dismiss it as a game, I am not lying man - in fact, this saddened me enough to waste time from whatever else I could be doing and create a thread to talk about it. " I see posts like these from since as long as I can remember in these forums. There are a lot of people being repulsed by it (and peterlerock expressed it in a hilarious way :P). I would be repulsed in the same way, if our templar wore a clown costume, a cat costume or a maid costume. I just find the pantslessness aesthetically terrible. Here is the summarized dialog. Hunter: Dude you look way cooler than me, this is not even fair. Chris: That's just the... Hunter: I'm like naked, with like my white legs and my little sandals taking on the minions of... .....blah blah..... Hunter: I got my beastly gear.... but no pants, forgot those. Lexi: We're going pantless folks! (thanks captain obvious) "Like naked, with my white legs and little sandals, taking on the minions of..." Does he look content with his character's looks? The early game rags you are talking about? They are not early game. Would be great if your character looked like that in the early game only! In fact I would like that! But no. Except vaal regalia (that looks like a pijama imo but at least it is not a pantsless pijama), every other attire looks like these rags - some, even worse, like the shirtless necromancer's silk t-shirt. Well the Templar can dress as a Sailor School Uniform thanks to the Infernal Mantle Unique. Which is based on a Touhou Character whose Clothing is well.. a School Girl Uniform. And yes the Infernal Mantle still just reaches the same length as his toga...
