Why did you or your friend quit playing POE?
the number one reason for most of my friends for quitting was: way too time consuming compared to the rewards

" The sad part is that youre right. The only way one can be rewarded is by trading aka shopping for rewards. Thats not the ideal way not even in a trading game like POE. I can play an hour of POE and not feel rewarded because all i get is orbs i dont have a use for and rares i can vendor. I can play D3 for an hour and get at least 1 upgrade, or at least a few items i can use to actual get 1 piece of gear fully crafted. Not to say i compare the games for what theyre not, POE isnt a self defined self found game, D3 is, but the fact remains that one should not have such a "dry spell" in terms of drops. Also quite sad that only people who trade get to use some orbs like divine, regal and ex. I never used any of them except in the descent champions with the insane orb drop rate whose chars went to void league. Shows how far the trading is apart from noon trading. Funny thing is, with buffed orb drops i would feel more rewarded, craft more especially via masters and then actually trade the orbs i dont need or even some items i crafted. GGG has to reevaluate their position on trading. |

" I don't understand why people are saying the creators keep nerfing. This game has gotten significantly easier over the past year. Overkill dps is so easy to get. |

I'm taking a break from the game until the new act arrives because I have PoE fatigue, that's right I got tired of it.

Most of them quit after awhile because the "new and interesting" stuff only happens in temporary league. Not everyone likes to start over from scratch after spending thousand and thousands of hour on a perm. league just so they have a chance to experience the "new contents" first hand.
Newer friends that started playing is overwhelmed by the stupidity economy in standard. I have to keep explaining them what's a legacy items whats a double legacy items and soon probably a triple legacy items... eg Friend asked me why 1 BoR cost 1ex when the other cost 20ex. And everytime I want to play a new league for the new content they usually go "thanks but no thanks" "you are telling me I have to regrind everything and then restart the grind again after 3 months just because they want to experience new content 1st hand?" and I said "uh... yep" Why can't PoE offer a more mainstream/traditional way to introduce contents from new challenging leagues IMMEDIATELY to a perm. league? like ALL other ARPG out there? And offer challenge rewards if players choose to play on the temp league? The rewards dont even have to be super great... some items with alternate art will spark enough interests for the most devoted players, or even some minor microtransactions... nothing will have any big impact on the economy. tl;dr 1. Why force players to start from scratch every time you add cool stuff to a league? 2. Why cant you add the cool stuff to the permanent league the same time you add to new temp league (offer some minor rewards for playing the new league). 3. Can we have a new perm. league that doesn't deal with retarded legacy/double legacy/triple legacy/quadruple legacy and so on items? (eg make all item changes retroactive). This way you can keep the dumpster leagues (standard/hc) all you want and new players can choose a non-retarded league and wont feel they are screwed because they started PoE later than others and are now forced to pay 50 times the price those item used to worth or be forever inferior to players who do have the said items? The real hardcore PoE players and the elites sit in town and zoning in and out of their hideouts trading items. Noobs that don't know how to play PoE correctly, kill monsters for items. It's pure fact, it will never change. Welcome to PoE. Dernière édition par Pewzor#2343, le 29 janv. 2015 à 10:57:44

" Except the mechanics and knowledge you need to compete at the highest level of LoL surpasses the mechanics and knowledge anyone in PoE or D3 applies. Given that HoN is such an impopular game, the chances are high that the difficulty of the highest competitive level in LoL is far higher than the one at HoN. " 1. Temp leagues and players are a priority, it's what feeds a family. 2. For practical reasons. Temp leagues are the testing grounds and players are the beta testers. Some stuff got approved and implemented in the core game, others got banned. " Playing both of them from time to time. If I have to make a comparison, HoN is the PoE of mobas, while LoL is the D3. The former is a darker oldschool version of dota, closer to the origin, the latter is a glowing rainbows everywhere all-invited version of dota. Or it is the feeling I personally got about them. I'll come back again when the next major update hits ( april ), if I enjoy most of the changes on it.
The last patch was pretty sad, actually. The main problem for me is that the late game is tremendously boring and you have to put a huge amount of gameplay on the field to achieve something. That added to a terrible and unrewarding RNG ( mostly, at least ) leads many people to give up. It's simply not fun enough for me when you reach a certain level and you're forced to run too much content or heavy trade to get something that worth the time you have spent. |

" They would have to remove stuff from permanent leagues then after a few month because not everything ends up in the permanent leagues after the temp leagues end. Also its a testing ground and the bonus for playing temp leagues the special stuff they offer. You are welcome to play the temp leagues when theyre around and just because you dont like legacy items doesnt make them bad, in fact, how do they affect you? There has never been a reason to hate legacy items other than the pvp reasoning. |

" Now I see why people making fun of you everytime you post saying "yet another meaningful DA post". I made the post according to the title of this thread and why many of my friends came and go. Your whiteknighting of w/e GGG does is right is widely known and isnt necessary. The real hardcore PoE players and the elites sit in town and zoning in and out of their hideouts trading items.
