Commentary on Micro-transaction Pricing
" So 'little'? An entire free awesome game... I really don't think 'little' is the right word to describe what you get here. |

" /thread this is ridiculous. “We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.”

If you need to have all the "coolest cosmetic luxuries" to enjoy this game without the effort of actually supporting GGG and spending some money, maybe you should stop playing it -- because it's not going to happen. They won't change that.

I wonder if people would shut up about the pricing if GGG called the packs 'Green Lizard Suporter pack' and so on.
Like that dude above said, it's not only about what you get for the money. That's only 50 % of the package the rest is support for the developers. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Simple as that. “Demons run when a good man goes to war"

Oh trust me they will. :) When they lost 75% players in 3 months like each one online game in the world (with three exceptions). |

The game is free and it is one of the best games i've played in years.
I love it to death. I've personally spent about $50 in the store already and will probably spend a bit more in the future. What I don't understand, however, is the price of some of the items. 900pts for ONE pet. $90. For one item. I think some of these items need to be cheaper to attract more sales and ultimately more money. I am not saying this because I want cheap items (but it is nice); but because I want this company / game to thrive. I can't see selling items at these prices being effective. |

i read the post and while i agree in some respects... i dont really care
I spent $50 I maybe might need to spend another $50 in the long run to get some more tabs as when higher level i might need to collect some more things, but i see this as reasonably fair. In GBP (my currency) thats probably something like £75.00. Thats probably the price of a game and a couple of expansions. Except with this game all the expansions are going to be free. Its also the price of about 12 months subscription to other games along similar lines to this that are PPM. Again i see it as relatively fair. I am not really interested in buying cosmetic effects. It really doesnt bother me that much if i have a glowing sword or not. In fact i prefer to not have. I like the gritty feel and realism of not having these things. I have a kiwi by default as thats what came with my supporting pack choice. In honesty i dont really know what would make them more money. Charging more? Charging the same? Charging less? They obviously tried to find the middle ground where SOME people would buy them. I'm sure if they have a sound business model as they introduce new things, the prices of the older things will be less then. That's how business works. You wanna buy diablo 2? Its like a fiver from Game or something. Why, because thats all they can charge now to get people to buy it because its old, all the people who were prepared to pay a lot have bought it, now they want to capitalise on any sales they can from the people that didnt. So to make your sword shine is like £3.00 now or something i dont know. When they make it so your sword talks to you and says things like "Slay something, i want to feel the blood dripping down my steel" (yeah ok lame, couldnt be arsed to think of stuff) then the shiney sword becomes £1.50 and then talking sword is £3.00. I wouldnt worry about what GGG are charging to be honest. Thats up to them. If you want the things theyre advertising, you pay the price they ask for or you dont get them... |

people complaining about pricing of completely optional stuff......
i could partially agree if they had p2w stuff like xp-boosts or premium time etc. but GGG has repeatedly said that they won't ever offer p2w options in their store. for most of us it's not about getting something tangible from the store, but to support the developers because they made a game we mostly enjoy. i have my problems with many aspects of the game right now, but this doesn't change the fact that i enjoy the genre and think that GGG should get my support. maybe this game will fail or maybe it will get the next big thing... i'm not the one to decide. but i can decide if i give my money to EA for a crap game like dead space 3 crap with release-day dlcs and p2w microtransactions or GGG. the 120$ i already spent on coins won't be missed if this game should fail. if it fails then at least i'm sure it's not because i didn't care enough. i just wish there where more store options, because i have 800 coins left and nothing i really want from the store, but i'm 100% sure they will add more stuff over time, so no big problem. |

90 bucks or more for those special blingbling items is absolutely ok.
there are plenty of other, cheaper items in the sea. and its not pay to win, cause none of the items will give you an advantage in the game guys.. i mean, i would also like to drive a ferrari but can't afford one.. instead i had to chose another, cheaper car which fitts my wallet. its that easy imho. “We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.”
