So, to the white knight naysayers telling people everything is fine... well... I leave you with this video:

And before you tell me that we have a miss chance, please, stop. Don't insult other player's intelligence.

You seem to be not able to target the crab with your mouse. See the mouse is that stylish arrow thing and the grab is that moving little thing. Put em over each other and you will hit.

Please stop this stupid thread. POE uses mouse targeting. Done!

Has this ever been address by GGG?

Glad I am not the only one noticing this, I have tried all the classes and I can't get out of the beach map because the Hit detection just upsets me.

I find it funny that the Devs give you a chance to test their game, and no one in CB even noticed this? What did you supporters test during all these months?

You just bothered on finding out the fastest way to level and the best BBQPEWPEWWTF builds so when the games goes live you can all be at the top of Ladders?

GGG you have a great game here /salute but this hit detection needs some work.

Cheers!

you stand in place and attack. WHY this is a problem is maybe because of a too small attack range.
I absolutely agree with that and i too was used to it not least from D3 but i think this is another topic.

I'm going even further and say PoE is not playable for melee classes atm.

Ok...

So according to what you are saying, if your cursor is in the direction of the mob, but behind it, your arrows wont go through the mob?
If your cursor is behind the mob, but in the same direction, you wont hit the mob unless the cursor is exactly ON the mob?

Don't take me wrong but, have you played any other action RPGs?
You know, games like Torchlight, Diablo, Titan Quest, etc.. ?

I do not know any game yet that uses this silly ground line of sight, all use "you shoot to where the cursor is" and period.

Too small attack range? Have you seen ALL of the video?

I am standing ON the mob? How closer can you get dude?

But do not worry, I am recording more footage to show you with different classes and spells.
Just let me finish my work and I will upload. :)

I dont know what you mean by this, but even though I have shown enough proof something is wrong with the hitboxes and trajectory of projectiles in this game, people still choose to ignore it.

We are in an Open Beta, and I am not doing what 99% of the players are doing and just because I am actually beta testing this, I get flamed from people using petty arguments.

I have asked you Snxile, show me any other action rpg with a system where you use ground line of sight instead of eye line of sight.

Show me so I can compare and understand that this is a "normal" gaming practice in the world of "diablo clones" (I use the word here vaguely as example of genre and non demeaning to any other games).
Well... After rethinking this case they could at least make a perspective "correction" for free aiming on ranged classes.

The perspective changes the target position (as mentioned in the thread already). If you aim up or down on the screen the arrow flies to the cursor. If you aim left or right the arrow flies above the mouse (your mouse targets the ground position where the arrow hits the target but the arrow flies higher in the air).

The strange thing is that targeting something (the red glow) actually changes that. Then the arrow flies to the center of the target. But the hitbox of the target may be smaller than the offset you are aiming at. So if you aim "on their feet" a bit left or right you do not hit. When you enter the hitbox for targeting you will hit.

I NEVER noticed that and it never gave me a problem while playing many hours and levels of the game. But it is "strange" how it is. That may have to do with that arrows where calculated like melee in the past!

For melee that is something total different in my eyes. I think the mouse over foe aiming is perfectly ok in that case.
This is why I started with a marauder this time around. I was properly frustrated with my bow ranger before the wipe. I got around this by building a character with greater multiple projectiles on the poison arrow so It almost didn't matter where I hit the whole screen was a burning acid pool. So yeah it was a work around because my brain was sad at how reality and game were are an impasse.
