Kripparrian is playing poe!!!!

I dont get what this argument is about since we all know that all these games are here to kill time before Sacred3 comes out...
Trespassers will be shot survivors will be shot again!

I am a little tired of people bashing the D3 folks because you all bought D3 and played it for at least a few hours before you glommed onto this game. Prior to D3 release, NOBODY had even heard of this game. I'm not happy with D3 either which is what drove me to keep tabs on this game and a few others.

Get off your high horse, just because you can justify paying for BETA does not make you more insightful, more knowledgeable or more mature than D3 exiles as you call them.

Just because someone bought a game and played it does not make them a fanboy.

Ooo, someone feels POE is a threat to their baby.
Why not join us? The view is great from up here (flicks snot down upon the D3 fanbois)

If the community is filled with people like you I think I rather not.

A Celebrity is a well-known person. While he might not be a PoE celebrity he is a diablo 3 celebrity. You called him a tool, an exploiter, and someone who begs the community for free gear. Sounds like you know quite a bit about him.

i don't know if it was my post you were referring to but it was the only one i saw in this thread that mentioned fanboys. I didn't mean fanboys in a negative way. I just meant Krip has a lot of followers and from what i have seen in the D3 forums a lot of those guys do hang on his every word. Which means if he recommends PoE as a good game that's quite a bit of good exposure for this game which is a good thing. We are all D3 exiles here just don't take these guys so seriously. they may poke at ya bit but its all in good fun. This place is deffinately not like the D3 forums and Mods are doing a good job to prevent that from happening. Its okay if you enjoy D3, hell i did for a couple hundred hours before getting bored and still maintain it was a good game for what it was.

Just relax and have fun. guys tend to bust each others balls from time to time and that's all that happening. Theres no real animosity towards D3 exiles i have seen on these forums. there will always be a few people who take it too far but the mods here do a decent job of slapping the guys on the back of the head when they do cross that line.

oh yeah and welcome :) i hope this doesn't turn you away from the game and the community. It really is one of the best i have been around in a while

Alot of us POE regulars but who are not D3 regulars also have also expressed apprehension about encountering elitism. See D3 forums to get a taste. People take ownership of something, spend time, get emotionally invested. Get offended, because an opinion upsets their worldview/opinion/perceived 'status' in their community then its all troll and flame. It seems to be the rule, and a subconscious process. See Star wars.

In fact, since you are a long time member, you would've read about fears that the forums will degenerate once open beta goes live. I hope this does not happen, though I reflect that I may somewhat contribute as well with certain responses as you alluded to. Note that I have toned down my trolling over the past week in response but I do feel the need to defend POE should the need arise.

edit: grammer chx.
POE is a constantly evolving game, so expect balance changes, buffs and nerfs STILL!

I watched his stream when he killed HC Diablo in inferno. He seemed like a cool person, and obviously because of the world first HC kill he knows how to play the game.

But whether he likes PoE or not shouldn't really influence YOUR view on it too much... people have different tastes. It's more important to know WHY he likes/dislikes it, and then how those opinions match up with what YOU want from an ARPG.

I missed his stream where Chris was talking to him, unfortunately. I just hope Kripparrian keeps an open mind about it.

I Watched Kungen's stream for a while this morning, and he was explaining why he liked the game with pretty great detail.

Wow, you seem to be a bit unhappy. You didn't quote a particular post so I'm not quite sure what triggered this response, but I believe you are wrong on several points.

First, many (probably a majority) of us did buy and play D3 -- there is a very long forum post of nothing but D3 Exiles. I am a "D3 Exile" ("exile" is not a pejorative term in this game -- you will often see new player posts replied to with "Greetings, fellow exile ....") I played D3 for far more than "a few hours" (I have one of each class L58-L60 in Hell IV through Inferno IV, and, for what it is worth, I was one of the "Chosen" who played in D3 beta). For many reasons, I found that the game was not what I was looking for. When I heard about PoE (from the D3 forums, no less) I figured I would give it a try. And so far, I am impressed.

I haven't seen too many beta members on high horses. As a registered forum member, you may win one of the free beta invites that are given away every five minutes. Having posted in the forums, your odds have improved. You can play the free open weekend going on now. You can wait until open beta and play for free then. Or you can shell out $10 to support the development (which gives you 100 points that carry into the live game.

Actually, the community is one of the things I really enjoy about PoE. If you post an opinion, for the most part you will receive reasonable feedback (positive or negative) without flames or personal attacks. If you ask a question, even one that is clearly spelled out in the FAQ or in 100 other forum posts, you are still likely to get a reasonable response. And the general chat in the game is far less inflammatory.

I will continue to bash D3 whenever it's appropriate. It's possibly the biggest gaming disappointment of the last decade. I spent $60 on that steaming pile of shit, you're darn right I'm bitter.
And I was 300 hours in, on act 3 inferno, before I had had enough of farming for GOLD to BUY my gear at a AUCTION HOUSE.
Then there's the boring customization ( or almost complete lack there of...
I go where ever a development company does it right. Blizzard....did not do it right.
This thread is on its way to being locked.

It's great that this player is willing to give PoE a try. I don't see why this thread should degenerate into fanboy/bashing/hate/whatever against any game.
Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.
First in the credits!
Kripparrian and Kungen are great exposure for the GGG team and POE... let's not ruin these threads with off-topic D3/POE complaining.
