Do you understand why PoE2 managed to reach that peak?

Trade need Taxes! And that's all...

Trade is ruined by bots. You can't compete with them unless you are a botter too. Taxes won't solve the issue.

There is a way tough. To limit the number of transactions per day, for example. But many players aka hideout warriors will be mad because of this I guess ))

I do wonder if they'll ever realize how much more money they'll get not having the game seasonal.

Sure, lets them sell lots of MTX's, but a consistent playerbase tends to bring in more money, Especially if the game is FUN, and can be enjoyed with friends.

I don't think this hyper grindfest mind-numbing game is all that appealing to people. Too competitive. Forced economy. Still require you to sit around online to sell stuff. Predatory to keep players engaged with the game. Like so many other practices they employ.
Key part of your post. "It wasn't free".

That should tell you exactly what you need to know. Yea, huge advertising. Play clips and streamers getting beat up during Exile Con. All that intricate movement, combos and weapon swaps.

Worked like a charm too. Best low-key crowd funding ever.

Totally agree... They lost in translation! The fact that is so simple to nerf everything and make still the game they've planned makes me upset becouse copy pasting from poe1 destroyed any value and vision...
OP is correct. PoE2 is morphing into PoE1. People one shotting the screen and zooming around.
It wouldn’t be a problem if the purchase power of others wasn’t incredibly affected by people running these stupidly overpowered builds.

Nerf em to the ground pls <3

I actually agree with you OP. Although I have had fun thus far during the EA, regardless I hope GGG delivers more of the (joked about) "vision" than not.

And I am firmly of the mind, unfortunately, that the less GGG listens to the diehard fanbase of PoE1 the better PoE2 will turn out to be. Respectfully.
seems like they took an EZ way out

instead of INNOVATING on PoE2

they backtracked on RENOVATING old turd game as safeguard,
cuz poe1 players will take ANYTHING GGG throws at them as 'this is good'

I know what you're talking about, it's really annoying when those players **** post with rage bait comments, like their ego is so inflated after exploiting their cancer builds. As if POE is the holy grail of perfection. Maybe deep down they are praying that GGG doesn't wipe all the items before launch, because they committed to grinding so much they forgot it was a playtest.

It all comes down to judgement, It's okay to see somethings strengths from POE1 and keep it, as long as it's exceptional. But for POE2 to grow it definitely needs innovation and gameplay improvements. Should not be catering to a minority of players who are afraid of change.
Innovation is also a risky topic,
Innovation is a double edged sword.

If you look at EA games and the Command & Conquer IP,
They preached about "Innovation" and "Gameplay" before launching Command & Conquer 4, Which was an absolute abomination that they should be ashamed of.
To follow up the franchise with a mobile game is absolutely absurd, Their college diplomas might as well be made of toilet paper.

but the moral of the story is, Innovation in what direction? When it comes to game design being able to judge what is a good innovation or not is extremely important.
