Do you understand why PoE2 managed to reach that peak?
![]() ![]() Do you guys (from GGG) understand why PoE2 managed to reach that all-time peak? MORE THEN DOUBLE the peak of PoE1 which has always been revered by the PoE1 playerbase as the best ever and constantly praised and showered with positive reviews by youtubers and whatnot in that bubble. AND UNLIKE POE 1, THIS WASN'T FREE... so, honestly, it's not even comparable, not even close. Was it Graphics that brought all those people in? Was it a promise of more of the same PoE1 slop screen clearing bs? No. It's simple... you promised something else with PoE 2 that PoE 1 couldn't offer... which was GOOD combat and Bosses with Souls-like mechanics. Bosses that wouldn't die in 3 seconds.. etc. You promised something that appealed to more then the usual crowd of PoE1, which, if they stood with the game for this long, saw no value in that promise.. quite the opposite. Many of those people were determined that they wouldn't even bother with PoE 2 precisely because of those promises. Despite that, the numbers surged initially. People believed that they wouldn't see the same zoom-zoom screen clearing nonsense they've seen in PoE1... yet... you've brought in the same thing. Ultimately, you failed to deliver. You fell back on your usual... essentially turning it slowly into PoE1 again over the updates instead of growing away from that... You chose to devolve instead of evolving. Truly disappointing. they promised nothing. Feel free to post any post or video to prove me wrong. Spoiler: you won’t.
The "slower" and "more mechanical" gameplay was not well received. Think about movement speed, parry mechanics, or how the Atlas used to work. Do you want them to ignore negative feedback? 500k isn’t even that much compared to Diablo’s peak player numbers for example. There are just lots of people interested in ARPGs. Most of the PoE 1 players probably tried PoE 2, plus a shit ton of new players who tried PoE 1 before or came from D4 or wherever. It’s not that hard to imagine how a new ARPG from a renowned game developer can pull those numbers. |

I think GGG did exactly what they wanted to do. 1) to make all (or mostly all) POE1 players play POE2 and 2) to attract new players who don't like POE1 or completely new players.
If you don't grind for gear, game is still pretty hard and bosses don't die in 1 second. This part is for new people. If you grind for gear in POE1 style, everything dies in 1 second. This part is for POE1 people. This way they try to sit on 2 chairs at once. " As it is now, just with some more content. Dernière édition par Azimuthus#1135, le 6 mars 2026 à 13:36:19

For me, this game is a complete failure.
Trade is like a soccer manager game overwhelmed by hyperinflation, ignoring casual players. XP loss – one of the most frustrating experiences in gaming history. Critical Kill is like roulette in Wild Wild West. Trials - Disrespectful Players Crafting: Casino Slot Machine META system: GGG Wilas asks you: What is it? |

How much did GGG advertise PoE vs. Deuce? Oh, right. When PoE launched, GGG was a tiny start-up with bare-bones operating funds, and got most of its promotion through grassroots means like YouTube. When Deuce launched, GGG was part of the TenCent corporate conglomerate, and was advertised all over the gaming space. OP is comparing cherries and watermelons. =9[.]9=

Yup. If the game looked/played even remotely similar to the original, I would’ve never bothered with it. Outside of the PoE1 fanatics, nobody wants this type of gameplay. None. PoE2 has to slow down, drastically lower monster density, and overall make the campaign more engaging and fun, aka challenging.

" Trade can't be fixed unless all item are acc-bound or you play in private (that is small) trade leagues or ssf. No game devs have ever outwitted bot programmers. " I think Mark hinted some time ago that they could do this iun 0.5 by making corresponding Atlas tree nodes. Will see. Dernière édition par Azimuthus#1135, le 6 mars 2026 à 16:14:18
