The simultaneous development of POE1 and POE2 isnt working
Massive +1
Poe2 need a dedicated team and provide at least monthly balance patches mid-league. Before someone say "iTs a sEasONal mOdEl"... Seasonal model is for economy to get wiped, so it doesn't inflate into infinity and gate new players from joining. Combat balance requires continuous changes of every ability in the game. Each skill needs to have its numbers aligned gradually, in small amounts, to find the sweet spot eventually. And that requires frequent patches and constant monitoring. Throwing a league every 4-5 months and leaving it, is the opposite of that and will never lead towards balance. |

" You plan to pay for this ? Response from an AI : For Path of Exile 2, adding a dedicated 10-person team (designers, coders, testers) focused on monthly balance patches mid-league could cost $600K–$1.2M annually in salaries alone (NZ-based averages ~$80K–$120K/person), plus $100K–$300K/year for tools, servers, and QA—totaling $700K–$1.5M/year. This assumes no major scope creep, funded via existing revenue (GGG's 2023 profit: ~NZ$28M) I'm certain people here will gladly advance the 1 million dollars to make it happen right ?? " 1. I don't trust AI, sorry. 2. I can pay a monthly sub, no problem. 3. I am pretty sure team of 2-5 would be sufficient for that purpose. We don't need every ability to be patched each month, but we do need a team that is working on that constantly. 4. A good game needs to be balanced in a way. Balancing patches should be happening at least. If there is no balancing patches, there will be no balance. And moment people realize that is the moment they stop playing. 5. Game's still in EA and a lot can change. So far GGG mostly disappoint in regards to combat balance. Dernière édition par Evergrey#7535, le 20 oct. 2025 à 06:46:57

" Just the launch of poe2 early access on december probably already got more money than that just from base access key cost, not to mention the upgraded supporter packs, the separated ones that new players bought and the ones that started after 0.1. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a couple of years of poe1 revenue combined Tho they probably spent a lot on marketing and stuff considering how many big content creators from other genres were playing the game. Side note: it worked, GGG really nailed the market side of things with poe2. Whoever is their marketing director is a genius Dernière édition par iHiems#0168, le 20 oct. 2025 à 07:20:18

This thread exists becasue GGG shifted plans after an already lengthy period of time taking our money to develop PATH OF EXILE 2 - AN EXPANSION TO POE 1.
It was originally introduced by Chris Wilson at EXILECON of all places with some big sweeping speech about how they didn't want to divide the community. the reason its not working is becasue THIS ISN'T THE PLAN. I posted on this for a long time but nobody seemed to care. Innocence forgives you

Whining does nothing.
Either post a feedback from your personal perspective and then hope for a change. Or organize with enough money to call the phone number of the top 3 people at GGG to propose something concrete, reasonable with a proper financial benefice to them. Anything else is childish. |

" There are exemples of games that did it and it work. Mostly thinking of runescape because i played it but i think other MMOs like WoW also do it. There is no way some RS player would play OSRS and vice versa. They kept both game. It wasnt easy at first but now it's working. They are even removing pay to win MTX from RS3 atm that will most likely reduce them income a bit. They also just released a survival game based on RS so a third title. I dont think Jagex have any revenue problems and the fact that they have multiple games actualy grow them income more than anything. Why they can afford now the removal of some type of MTX breaking the reputation of the game. SSF player Dernière édition par BlastYa#4875, le 20 oct. 2025 à 08:00:54

" That's what myself and so many others here did, Before PoE2 the forums were still pretty managable to give GGG feedback, As you said "hope for change" and surely it took many years but a lot of users here saw their ideas and feedback make it into the game. A lot of that feedback was fueled by a passion for this game and i don't know what to say about the simultaneous development but its too late at this point, i warned everyone endlessly :x I will note that once primary development of PoE2 completes we should still be entering a golden time when the development team can focus on more exciting things for both games.. Its hard to wait though. Innocence forgives you Dernière édition par SilentSymphony#3358, le 20 oct. 2025 à 08:01:12

" I also believe this, but they will really need to push through by gritting their teeth until poe2 full release to not let down player's expectations if they decide to keep this model. Hopefully they don't get burned out Dernière édition par iHiems#0168, le 20 oct. 2025 à 09:36:25
