No. This is not any kind of problem. 0.15% of players reaching level 100 in any given league is exactly what it should be. It's supposed to be exceptionally rare and a great achievement.


lol people who bought and play the game should be able to reach lvl 100 in a reasonable time frame if they commit to it. Copying bs meta build from youtube isn't some great achievement, people should play at their own pace and own style without being punished. The devs should respect their customer time, simple as that!!!

The game kills you and at gives no indication what it was that caused it. Just saying "git gud / better gear loser" is a tired hand-wave-answer for a system that doesn't even try to explain what just happened.

I'd love to have gear with 10,000 shield, 95% evasion, and 10,000 armour - plus 90 capped resistances. Okay; but I don't. So the game should tell me what the damage was that led up to my death so at least I know what to invest in/avoid.

Saying "oh, it's probably a map modifier" is also BS. Don't create map modifiers that 1-shot people so that they just have to throw them away. Basic game design.

Running around 99.99% of the time ripping through maps, then suddenly dying to some unexplained combination of features is utterly frustrating for players who don't do this as their day job.


Exactly, it's like these ppl get their ego and personality based on how they never die in the game it's so annoying

I'm not entirely against XP loss on death though but i think it needs a few concessions, my main problem is with the balance of the game and how 99% of the time you can't tell what killed you, there's nothing to learn when you die like that

Who does this benefit?
Why do you care how others play?

Fromsoft seems to enjoy a little trolling and it's ok if you have a sense of humor and its occasional. This isn't that.
This is the first game that seems to intentionally stifle players.
Not trolling, challenging, or even excessive obstacles or anything like that.
Just straight stifling.

Why shouldn't most players have the opportunity to reach max level?
"A great achievement"? For whom? So you can tell your mom?
I don't get it.
I don't understand the fun-police approach.

XP loss/death and the slog of the campaign can easily be fixed at the same time.
Double all XP gain until 75 then triple it.
After max level XP gain can be translated to gold.

That's it. Simple fix for two problems.

Out of curiosity, Skyvortex, how many of the suggestions I posted have you started following? If you aren't layering defenses and categorizing your waystones by good mod/bad mod, you are fun-policing yourself.

Most players have layered defenses and don't run bad waystones, even the ones who die occasionally

'most' players i interacted in global don't even have capped reses because 'defenses are a meme' notion.

First thing I do after reaching maps is capping resistances.
You don't need defences bro... All you need is a viable build and maxed ES. Then you play as god.
