So, what is it... 1 skill point, 10, more... you changed your claim there just slightly.
Sorry, when did I ever say 10?
Please stop making assumptions / putting words in my mouth
You are correct. If you check the front page, two topics very similiarily names, my bad. I thought it was you (wrong thread, comment). Exactly same topic / content though.
Apologies mate.

Or most of the playerbase doesn't care about reaching max lvl.
Said with so much confidence yet so little evidence. I can point to hundreds of threads of people quitting POE 2 over this. I will be generous and give you wide threshold - can you point me to *any* game ever, where hundreds have quit and complained because it was too easy to reach max level?
I point you to... Last Epoch.

LOL!
Fair Shout, for sure, but, i dunno if its that getting max lvl is too easy, or just something else that rubs me wrong about the game.
Honestly, i think its something in the items / presentation / ui. I just dont like it. +Void +Melee +FireMelee, etc etc, it just didnt sit with me.
Each to their own.

i can notice a lot of things about end game that i heavily dislike
-patch 0.1 had more of 82 map lvl so it was better to lvl up
-people were discussing adding a extra tier of maps for better xp, instead we got less
-the number of citadels is too low
- xp death on bosses that you are doing new tiers T2-T3-T4 IS pointless
- xp death were i cain earn 1% per map being 3% at death should be only on last lvl

Did not genuinely happen. I did not play LE since it isn't out on console, but it took me about a minute to find out that its endgame has infinite difficulty scaling. Plus it has a hardcore mode as well.

Crafting is so heavily RNG, and good/relevant end game loot drops are so rare that - often times, the only thing players have to show from beating maps is progress on their bar. But when you can lose progress from ten/twenty/thirty maps in one foul, unreactable, poorly telegraphed one-hit-kill... it's demoralizing/demotivating & ceases to be fun for most people.
Why do I say most? Well, given that only 4 players have reached level 100 this whole season - if it were true that most people preferred this design philosophy, I would expect to see at least 51% of peak seasonal players stick around trying to reach level 100. However, the real number is far below that.
Or most of the playerbase don't care about reaching max lvl. It has so little effect on total character power. If you're losing 30% xp in a map (at 96 i get 1-2% per map) then you probably aren't ready for harder content.
Yet I am ready for content where I might die once every 10 maps and my XP is stagnant. That's the problem, the current balance of XP gain to lose ratio allows for players who are ready to get completely screwed by a cheese death.
You may as well support losing several maps worth of gear and currency on a single death

I asked for this. I will continue to ask for this.
I like that endgame farming is punctuated by ups and downs, by feelings of danger followed by relief, and that occasionally you notice a scary mob or situation and ask yourself whether it's really worth it. This more than anything is what breaks up the monotony of the endgame grind.
Experience loss one death is one of the handful of things from PoE 1 that I feel strongly should not be altered. It's a great system for rewarding good play and making defensive stats consequential short of full hardcore.
Yep and there are some guys that like getting punched in the balls for pleasure.
P.S
I am a Dog and i will just drop my load and leave on to the next post

i wont be supporting them either if they removed xp loss. makes gearing meaningless. people who complain about xp loss are likely the sort who'd use cheats in fps, coz dying isnt fun.
True.
Also their just incredibly short sighted and dont understand anything about game development. They fail to realise why it is a required mechanic and thats also why its in so many different games.
They just chain die to white maps and then complain about exp loss instead of thinking more then one layer.
You lose 2.5% exp on death. For this to be a problem you have to be dying alot.
And at that point if you took two mins to think you would realise that the real problem is that your chain dying. Not the consequences of it.
Its just the type of people who when they meet a challenge instead of trying to improve just crouches down crying and hoping someone removes it.
