GGG this just isn't it. I can't understand your thinking.

Context: LA Deadeye hanging on for dear life in act 3. Following an excellent build guide but there is no gamble, craft or vendor purchase that's worked out and this is bound to happen to a segment of the player base when the gear system is just RNG on top of RNG.

The number of things that can drop is huge. The number of mods that can roll on those drops is huge. The variance in rolls on those mods is huge. The chances of actually getting a good piece of gear are just tiny.

My belt, for example, is level 4. I'm level 41.

I just sweat my ass off to beat queen of filth and she dropped... a couple useless blues. There's no universe in which that doesn't feel bad.

I really tried to understand your design philosophy. I do feel that upgrades should be meaningful. But sadly I've seen for myself that the majority of players giving feedback are right: there just isn't adequate reward for all this difficulty right now.

Its kind of funny really, (and fucking lame), that almost all my upgrades are coming from farming gold and gambling, opposed to the constant shitty junk blues and whites that drop occasionally.

And nah, cant really take chances on those items with currency , as very very very little currency is even dropping.
GGG - Why you no?

Yup. Mirrors my experience perfectly.
Some people get a good weapon early, that last them most the campaign (i got a spear in act 3 that lasted me into maps) and made the campaign pretty easy from that point forward. So two truths exist here. Maybe RNG needs to be reigned in during the campaign a little more, or a way to recover from a long string of bad luck. The campaign is possible, and not that hard with all blues if those blues have the 2 mods you want on them.
I hear you but this feels like the key point here:

It's difficult to get them even in one slot.

Loot is appalling
Most painless way to level atm is just picking up currency maybe iding rares for gold and the slim possibility of a good roll, and converting to ex to trade for leveling gear on the trade site.

5-10 ex worth of decent 1-2ex leveling items will make acts about 2-3x easier.

Trading should not be the solution to completing campaign outside of twink uniques.

The campaign needs to flow without trading.

Go make a character in poe1 and play slams through the campaign. Make a weapon in act 1 and try to bring it to kill kitava in act 5. Thats what poe2 campaign is like.

Now use the tools poe1 has, and vendor recipe a weapon every time you get into a new act. Then report back that experience. I promise it will be 100x better to use the basic vendor recipe for a 1 mod weapon.

You can get lucky in poe2 if you get a good item from a vendor.

The only 2 items that matter if youre playing a mace warrior is your weapon and your boots. You can easily complete the campaign with blue 1 mod items outside of those 2 slots.

I ripped my spear char in a3 cruel and havent touched that since but it felt really smooth once i got the accuracy damage node and i ended up with an insane spear with almost 400 accuracy. Without that weapon it felt like playing ruthless on a 1l.

I'm not saying the campaign is impossible as it is now. But making it really slow, tedius, and terrible gear upgrading paths is just not fun to me.

Here are some massive upgrades available for 1 regal orb: https://www.pathofexile.com/trade2/search/poe2/Dawn%20of%20the%20Hunt/azoMwWMte

For the love of St. Christopher patron saint of bachelor's and travel just trade. I know it's not your favorite part of the game but these posts are getting exhausting at this point.
