GGG can you justify why off meta skills were nerfed?

simple, just what the title says.

Corrupting Cry for example, it was dealing NO damage and was not imbalanced at all, required weapon swap and combos to do boss damage, yet was nerfed down to the ground and below.

the added '50% duration expired' required on top of the curses activation delay does seem like a pretty big barrier for use. especially in end game maps.

Hex Blast deaded had no justification behind it.
the list of skills nerfed is massive. seems like they didn't actually intend to rebalance anything, and instead just brought down player power across the board. feels like helldivers mega nerf all over again.

NOBODY KNOWS WHAT DAMAGE SKILLS DO NOW. You don't know if Hexblast was nerfed because you don't know what damage it does. Same for every other skill.

And yeah, player power going down *was the point* it was *too high*.

For a couple builds, it was too high.
There are those of us who choose a skill and playstyle that sounds fun to us, and try to make it work, most people who do this won't find player power 'too high.' If you follow a build guide then yeah, you might find it's too high, and now begins the vicious cycle of, players overoptimizing the game, and developers responding by overbalancing. Fun can't be allowed for those of us who just like to play the game without following build GPS.

You also say we don't know if we're actually nerfed because we don't know the numbers of the skills, which I agree with but don't hold your breath, but then concede that we all got nerfed by the end of your post, make up your mind, broski.

Patch notes also include no improvements to defenses, just nerfed the only ones that are even remotely functional. You could still be one shot using the games currently 'functional' defenses, because ES provides a huge pool but little in the way of scaling effective health, and mana stackers were still spending their whole defensive layer to spam their spell. Evasion was easy to scale but when the wrong hit comes through you're still boned.
