I will be playing Last Epoch in April instead of POE2
|
POE2 has a lot of work to do to earn my business back. I have bought almost $2000 worth of stuff from GGG but its clear that bean counters from TenCent have control of the company. Chris Wilson left but clearly he was given an NDA and non disparage (I hope he got paid well for that) and he cant talk much about his departure. POE2 is not a sequel to POE1 and in fact POE1 is a better game in many ways. There are only 2 or 3 things in POE2 that are better. GGG has gone AAA and that is very unfortunate. Baring some dramatic shifts in the philosophy of GGG my days with them might be done. Who cares? About me, probably no one. But if enough feel as I do then there will be a big problem.
My Issues: 1. Gear in POE2 is a slot machine that rewards endless hours of grinding and not much else. If you have thousands of hours to play then you are fine. If you are a working adult like me then you can forget Hardcore or Solo Self Found as a viable play style. I always play SSF because I dont want to "buy my build". Id rather ... uhh ... actually play the game. 2. Lots of very popular systems in POE1 have been removed and the least popular systems (Sanctum and Ultimatum) were promoted. In Phrecia I have been more than a bit irritated that I am not able to remove Sanctum or Ultimatum from my maps because of the stupid RNG idol system. But at least in POE1 I can ignore them. Not so much in POE2. Since I play SSF and didn't buy a one key clear the whole map build, and I like to play melee ... well that third ascendancy just never happened. Personally I think they should forget trials completely. 3. Most importantly the attitude of GGG. They basically told their most loyal paying customer base to "pound sand" and not in a polite way. Think of the most impolite way to say that and you still wont get there. They didn't make a sequel to POE1, they made a game targeted at Diablo 4 by borrowing POE1 code. Its a total mess. Not only are they promoting the D4 playstyle, the forums and global chat are overrun by a plethora of these players that are rude, crude and nasty. You are more likely to get conversations about politics or reproductive body parts in global than conversations about the game. THIS IS THE CROWD GGG IS WORKING TO GET. They think they can get a lot of money off of them. GGG doesn't care one bit about making a good game anymore, their game is now run by bean counters. I realize I will be flamed and that is just ... meh ... par for the course with this new audience and I dont care. But there are a LOT of GGG diehards that feel the same way. I talk to them constantly in POE1. If that is the derection GGG wants to go, count us out. If we wanted a community like this we would go to Reddit. If we wanted a game like this we would just play D4. Peace ... out. Dernier bump le 21 mars 2025 à 04:19:13

Speaking a long-time PoE die-hard... um... bye? I guess?
I mean, if you want to play LE just because you want to play LE that's fine -- Last Epoch is an entirely cromulent game, and EHG have also earned a lot of good will, and wanting to support them is a thing I'm totally OK with. But this overly-dramatic, overly-performative exit? It's just... so cringe. I'm sure some long-time PoE1 fans will prefer PoE1, which is why GGG have been very clear that it will continue to exist and be supported. And, as a long-time GGG supporter, who's quite visibly (I mean, look to the right, here) been more supportive of them that you appear to have been, I firmly believe that plenty of long-time supporters are also more than fine with PoE2 having an identity of its own. Living the Hollow Palm live, and loving it. Stay sane, exiles!

Enjoy!
GGG - Why you no?

" We shall see. The whole industry of AAA games is just ... not great. |
|
" Your noble spirit has embiggened the smallest man. |
|
" So why are they forcing PoE1 style gameplay into PoE2, if both games are to coexist simultaneously? We shouldn't have blaster builds and blowing up the entire screen instantly in "souls-like/ruthless/slow & methodical" PoE2, but here we are. |

This game's for whales. And they like MTX and RMT, MTX is only worth it to them if others are forced to look at it(archaic trade?) and RMT is only worth it if the game is overly grindy and RNG.

" What? How is a "Free2Play" game for whales? If you are new and make it to the endgame and want to have QoL while farming - you only spend 20-30 bucks for tabs and that's it. That's so far away from anything related to "whales" it's not even funny. Even if you would buy every 3 months (new league) a supporter pack for skins, you wouldn't be considered a whale. That's what!? Every quarter of the year a "new" game (price-wise)? And the visual MTX is nothing you need. With every league you have "challenges" that reward you with free skins and shit. It's for whales because you can RMT and it's grindy!? No matter how grindy a game is (or not) - if trade in any shape or form exists - ppl WILL RMT, period. [Removed by Support]

Incorrect. Here is the actual truth.
PoE1 is a complete and utter joke. So is D4. Can't say much about Last Epoch, but would absolutely never go near that game from what I have seen from it. PoE2 is the closest thing we have available to a legitimate arpg. So you should be commending developers. Not ranting about aspects of this game that are exceptionally well designed. PoE2 is actually exemplary when it comes to any typical looter arpg/shooter on the market. Since most games in general cater to easy mode users. It is actually a legitimately balanced normal mode type game that is not even difficult just because it isn't designed to cater to easy mode (which is why mmos have gone down the drain over the years). You seem to have a false comprehension of how a looter arpg works. And complaining about PoE2 based on utter misunderstanding of what you're even playing. Blaming the game for something that it has actually designed well for a change. So let's start with this premise. Online netbuilds are the worst possible guideline for the general public to follow. This is because they give a completely false impression of how uniques should work when a game is designed correctly. Uniques are supposed to be just that. Unique. They should not be universally affordable. And nobody should be planning their build around a unique that they do not own or have no ready access to. A correct 'universal' meta build should be planned for rares. With unique-based builds perfectly fine if available. In fact, the best mindset is for a max setup should be without uniques. No legitimate arpg is going to be played in a way that drops you find need to be based on a predetermined unique build. Then crying and throwing a tantrum when you can't find something. Such as users who try to blame the game as if there is something wrong with drop rates. When drop rates for this game are excellently done due to other games being too superfluous. Which undermines the game. Something that nobody wants to happen. When the correct approach of any arpg is your build being based on what you find. Before you play this game - stop listening to online BSerey. If you go on YT or pretty much anywhere, you will see BS guides frivolously recommending uniques. And discussing them as if everybody has access to them. When they do not and should not. Followed by crying and throwing a tantrum when you can't find/afford them like hosts who play the game 24/7. Should regular users be able to find/afford the same as those who play an unreasonable amount? Most definitely not. Will those who play an unreasonable amount be more likely to find things that are not designed to be acquired for normal play? Yes they are. You should not be basing your play on anybody who is playing the game 24/7. Then complaining about not being able to live up to them. If I'm wrong, then show me a legit guide that actually discusses playing the game understanding that not everybody has or should have access to uniques and that uniques are exceptions. Not universal. Therefore, explaining to the public how to actually correctly play this game. And cater your build around rares. How to actually approach a well designed arpg. First and foremost - do not listen to the absolute garbage advice given on the internet. Play and enjoy the game. Go for rares and tweaking your build as best as you can. If you want you can start a character zeroed out (zero gold with no HMD <handmedowns>). Do not expect to find uniques or worry about affordability in trade. There is nothing here that caters to the rich or users who can play long hours. Not only will it be completely free including ability to buy (only requiring payment for premium stash tab to sell). The paid early access gives currency to be able to fully trade buy/sell. So any child with no money and school schedule will have no problem playing through and enjoying this game to the fullest without needing to spend any huge amount of time and money on it. Therefore, so can any grown up with a full time job. You are trying to act as if something is wrong with the game when it is clearly a pebcak issue. You have not mentioned one actual real problem with the game. Nobody in their right mind is pounding sand due to not having unreasonable expectations of trying to force what should be difficult to acquire. And looking forward to something they may be able to get eventually. Not throwing a 2-year old mine mine give me give me now tantrum. PoE1 and other games are not the ones doing things correctly. PoE2 is the one doing it correctly. Dernière édition par Crimlet#6554, le 15 mars 2025 à 21:52:53
