Do any POE 1 players LIKE the changes in POE 2? All systems are just worse :/

I don't really see much of anybody happy, except people brand new to POE 2 and don't know better yet.

I'm completely unsure why they made every single system in POE be similar, but much worse.

I don't understand why they made Expedition not worth doing.

I don't understand why they made crafting not worth doing.

I don't understand why they made essences not worth doing.

I don't understand why they made Delirium not worth doing.

I don't understand why they made strongboxes not worth doing.

I don't understand why they made the skill tree so bad.

I don't understand why they made the atlas tree so bad.

I don't understand why they made portals so bad.

I don't understand why they made about 99% of this game honestly. It brings absolutely nothing aside from WASD.

Most every bit of content they ported over from POE 1 has been absolutely trashed beyond use. In POE 1 I don't walk by every single mechanic because they are guaranteed worthless -- in POE 2 that is just how you play the game. Skip 90% of content, as it's all not worth even doing.

Most of the systems in this game are so bad we skip them, they aren't even worth interacting with.

Expedition pretty good with nodes.
There is no crafting, which allows you to find expensive rare items on the floor even after a month of playing
essences as a farm on maps - not an independent mechanic, it does not have an atlas points. As part of limited crafting it is quite ok.
Delirium is simply 1000 times better than in poe1. Especially on maps. Again, with atlas points.
Strongboxes are trash. right
Skill tree questionable.
Atlas tree not so bad.
Idk what the problem with portals.
For the most part, all the content that is currently in poe2, if you compare it with the analogs in poe1, in poe2 they are better. Better for the economy, for the life of the game.

I disagree with almost everything you said so badly I even find the spaces between your words disturbing.

Could not disagree with you more.

Expedition is straight up trash now. Its only use is farming log books to try and spawn the expedition boss. In POE 1 you could use the currency on alts to fill in gaps while leveling. Tujen was a boss in POE 1, a vendor where I could get any currency I needed and sometimes I could get divines and even mirror shards here and there.

I've been playing for around 300 hours and have found exactly one "on the ground" item that I've put to use. Without being able to craft on the level we could in POE 1 it's just gambling with expensive materials.

Essences were a bread and butter farming strategy in POE 1. Not only that but they were much more useful as a crafting material. I've seen exactly 1 greater essence and I kill every essence mob I see.

The atlas tree is lacking compared to POE 1 because you can't use it to target certain game mechanics. It's basically "want more waystones or stronger enemies?"

Not having sockets and colors on items is good, that's about it.

In poe1, expedition is needed in the first couple of days, and even then it's an absolute waste of time (compared to alternatives). Tujen rewards with an excellent waste of time and even bots in modern poe don't farm it. Rog exists in poe2. Gwenen is a bad alternative to ancient orbs (we still have it for gold rn). Yes, a very cool mechanic, not outdated at all. Oh yeah, 3 different bosses from which you only get coins of value, great.
The fact that you played 300 hours and found only one decent item on the floor is definitely a skill issue. Yes, in poe1 it is much easier to get resources, in the last couple of years they have done everything so that players can craft things without effort, get a lot of currency. I don't think this is a great way to develop the game. imo
You can craft with small essences too. In poe2 the value of good rare items is different, it is much higher. Accordingly, the methods of their crafting are much more valuable (including essences). And in general, essences in poe2 work differently and are much stronger.
Use tablets to target-farm any mechanic. Is this a problem? The only mechanic that is hard to sustain is rituals, you will have to buy them from trade periodically. What does Atlas and target farm have to do with it?
There are many problems in poe2, but certainly not the ones you point out.

I've played PoE1 since the beginning. I love that game, and I love PoE2, as well. If I had to pick just one, it would be PoE2, but they're both great.

Why do I like PoE2?

- The quality of life is great. I like WASD control and shooting while moving. I like escape pause. I like having an ID NPC, and not having portal scrolls.
- The crafting is satisfying. I like that there is a sense of finality for crafting. I don't feel like I could have made an item a bit better, and then rolling it again. I like that a PoE2 item's crafting journey has a conclusion, even if it's not the best item I've got. Rog crafting was like this in PoE1, and I liked that, too.
- The end game is very relaxing. I like the random map aspect. I just like coloring in the dots. If I don't like a layout, I can run a lower tier waystone. I actually like the towers (except for sunken spire). They're very cruisey. I think the mods on waystones are more interesting to interact with. I did the Phrecia league to 80, and I realized I don't like the mods in PoE1 maps.
- I like the 1-try map system. It's just like heists in PoE1, which was my favorite league mechanic. To be honest, I tried HC in PoE1, and I enjoyed it, but I realized I avoided a lot of content that I found risky. PoE2 is a great "HC-lite", where the stakes are there, but not too high. Just perfect.

PoE2 also has things that I think can improve. But they don't bother me that much.

- Essences could use some love.
- Trials feel pointless and boring after getting all 8 passives.
- Campaign is long and tedious. I liked the campaign and characters in PoE1 a lot more.
- Uniques are boring. I'd rather just not have them.

To add a bit of context, I play SSF, and I don't really care about pinnacle bosses.

Poe2 is now "Sweaty" and Poe1 is also.
Poe1 is like being in a small sauna with a bunch of Sumo wrestlers.

PoE2, one farted.
Don't know if its been mentioned.

But the bosses and campaign are way better.
GGG also says that most of their playerbase spends a fraction of a fraction of their playtime in the campaign.

Everything else ranges from slightly worse, to "I'm not playing this shite"
For me Ascendancy Trials needs a complete overhaul and death penalties lifted in order for me to even consider playing anything outside of the campaign.

At least in the campaign GGG doesn't break into your room and beat you unconscious with a baseball bat when you die.
Everything in POE2 is far faaaaaaaar worse. Everything. Even the gem and skill system. Far less gems and far less options for support gems. Its jsut bad, the frame rate is bad, the sluggishness is bad, the lag is bad, the network mode is bad. Its just bad, all of it. Every little bit of POE2 is worse than POE1.

Johnathan doesnt know what made POE1 so good and he thought he could do better. No, Not even close.
