Do any POE 1 players LIKE the changes in POE 2? All systems are just worse :/

Honestly the gameplay in POE 2 doesn't feel that great, it's got built in delay it feels like, it's not snappy and quick like POE 1. In POE 1 when I press a button the action happens instantly, doesn't feel that way in POE 2.

But aside from that -- my problems with POE 2 is the devs, their designs are crazy and antithetical to what players and ARPG people want.

Its litterly patch 0.1 until we have 1.0 you cant compare a full release with 10 years of content updates too a 0.1 early access.

I think a lot of people just wanted poe1 reskinned into a new engine and not a new game. This is the problem with most of these posts. Maybe ggg will make poe1 in the poe2 engine and everyone will be happy. is a arpg player i want what poe2 is, im happy with the direction and like the changes. Again this is players that want a reskinned poe1.

Sorry but to be very specific, I think the problem is literally they have cancerous toxic "vision".

The way they think is fundamentally flawed for POE 2, without giant sweeping changes (like crafting bench, remove stupid new atlas, etc etc) it's just... they intentionally made every single possible thing worse. On purpose -- Why on earth would they go back? They showed their hand, and their primary concern is forget the players.

This. I am hoping they come to accept that they need to think differently and as such PoE2 undergoes massive remaking of many components. Even the dodge roll. You could keep it and add iFrames plus remove the slowness at the end or you could just remove it and give us movement skills. Crafting, 1-shot mechanics(both P and E), entire endgame, ascendency trials, various mechanics, etc. Lots of this needs to have a hard look and probably a decision to start over on them.

Also, game looks great even if it is on the same old engine, but it definitely runs terribly. If that can't be fixed then all this needs to be rebuilt on a good engine. And if the dev team is too small to make their own engine, then pay for one. They definitely have the money now.

I have played POE1 since the official release, though I only played on the Default league, I started playing leagues with the Forsaken Masters and that's when GGG finally got me completely, this is because that update added crafting and I was now able to at least trivialize setting 4 linked sockets once you are far enough in the leagues

So for POE2 I am thoroughly enjoying the changes

things I like in POE2 better than POE1, excluding graphics and animations (since those are obvious)

- Gamepad controls, MASSIVE improvement here, one of the main reasons I struggled to get to level 80 in phrecia to get the armor and just went back to POE2 once I got the armor
- Skill system, I hate with a passion the skill systems that link your skills with your items, making you pay a bullshit tax every time you want to equip an upgrade, in POE1 I tolerated the system because its a really good game, but now that I have POE1 but without skills in items, I don't need to go back, still not sure about the can't repeat support gems in POE2, but I prefer this limitation to the socket color/link bullshit in POE1, and unlike in POE1, in POE2 I have actually upgraded my endgame armor because I don't have to deal with six linking another item
- Endgame system, not sure how many of us there are, but I am at least one person that likes the way stones better than maps, I like actually exploring an earthly atlas, I like I don't get good mods only on crappy map layouts, I now can choose where I use the way stone, and I can still avoid some of the layouts I don't like if there is another path, I would agree however, that map size in endgame is too big right now
- The Campaign, Combat during the campaign I think is a lot better in POE2, with bosses being MUCH better than most POE1 bosses (not including pinnacle bosses from POE1)

something I noticed in Phrecia, is that I died a LOT more to bullshit in POE1 than in POE2, so I like this as well, and I hope GGG never adds Souldrinker rare mod to POE2 because its so much bullshit in POE1 heh
I felt there were a lot more bad rare mods in POE1, and you can't compensate your build with skill, you either have a good build in POE1 or die a lot in endgame specially, while in POE2 I have made some really crappy builds that had no business progressing as long as they did

and that's my 2 cents, I am happier with POE2 being different than POE1, and I'm a POE1 player that doesn't feel like he needs to go back to POE1, even with the current state of POE2
