PoE 2 has lost over 80% of its players in 3 months.

A whole Month? But I want it now!

The assumption is made based on interviews and feedback from Johnatahn him self and he refuses to improve parts of the game because it doesnt fit thier vision.

You and me both, but I also want a Ferrari but that will have to wait as well.
For now I’m off in 7 hours to play the PoE1 event which is going to be freakishly mad and have some fun.

I have seen the same interviews and I wouldn’t say he doesn’t want to change anything, he is cautious about changing things as he has said it is easier to give than to take away so changes have to be done with caution. Changes also have a financial cost in terms of manhours to make them, so have to be correct and not just because of a handful of complaints.
As an example that’s relatively harmless, I have seen threads both for increasing drop rates and removing entirely Mirrors from the game.

its a little dishonest to imply people havent been patient. its been 5 weeks since they did their interview saying they were rushing out 0.2 and doing it "asap'. then they did that video saying they wouldnt have a new poe1 league ready and they werent doing anything else until 0.2 was out, even said out and supported for a few weeks after that. that was 3 weeks ago and now it says 4 weeks to go (maybe).

edit- if that was your intend with this seemingly sarcastic line = A whole Month? But I want it now!

I agree communication is key to success and since Chris Wilson (and before him Bex) left this has been lacking and needs improvement. At PoE1 launch CW promised, and for the most part kept it, to do two week updates (that then eventually became 3 month leagues) but for the majority of his tenure communication was at a minimum adequate and mostly good. I love Jonathan and Marks dedication and them stepping up to be the figure heads and what they have done they have done well, but we need more of it and if they are currently too busy (which would be understandable) then a PR employee needs to be found or recruited.

Edit: I think he was just trying to be humorous hence my semi humorous reply

I have seen many game devs promise they will communicate weekly or bi weekly and then completely disappear off the face of the planet a week after saying that.

A recent one was the CEO of Collosal Order. She sent out two "weekly" updates (full of lies and abuse) and then 1 month after CS2 was out said that theyre not going to bother updating the game any more unless its a paid DLC. Was a year ago now but Im still angry about that one. I still cant play that game cause of the bugs.

I dont even remember the other devs that done that now. The devs abandoned the game(s) after making those kinds of blog posts and behavior and those games lost all thier players. As will POE2.

For what I've seen from Johnathan in POE2s development, hes done a terrible job as a creative director and he should never be allowed on camera ever again. I dont want to hear him speak another word.

Imagine taking stats like this so seriously for a game that isn't even finished or had it's first major update lmao

poe2 official launch will be more popular than Early Access ever was

No it won't.

Most players that left, left forever and it's not hard to see that the ones behind the helm don't wan't to change a dime of their ''vision''.

New players won't return, bots will.

How juvenile you must be to make statements like this since it exposes your lack of patience and your self-entitlement. It takes someone young enough to be so certain of everything while knowing nothing hahaha.

By what authority are you speaking from? Just yourself? What are you? What have you made? If you're so good, go out and make the perfect ARPG yourself. Those who flap the loudest have no idea what it takes to make even the smallest change to a game with complex systems such as PoE. For mature adults that have to read or listen to such drivel, it's sounds like a whining kid who'll keep crying until someone gives them what they want. Sheesh.
Im just reminding everyone that you can tell who the trolls are by the lack of badge under thier name (supporter pack) which means those trolls dont even have the game. So dont bother argueing with them, theyre just here to put down anything you say.

This is not "vision". I mean, portals or other punishing stuff. It is there just to prolong time people spend in the game. There are many ways to do that (existing examples: item drop rates, making maps bigger), but they have overdone it in POE2. Probably because they wanted to have good player retention (and they succeeded to some extent).

And because someone doesn´t activate stuff in their Account to show some stupid Badges means they have no Voice in your Opinion?
Oh my....
Also just to check you can click on thier user name and see that they have maybe one character in POE1 they made years ago and havent played since. So I stand by what I said. No badge makes them easy to spot.

Sorry but we a) don’t know what ‘their vision’ is and b) are making a massive assumption that it’s not flexible.
0.2.0 is a month away, go play something else and if you feel like come back and see if 0.2.0 has moved your opinion one way or the other.

Edit: although a reply to your post, this applies equally to sirgog that you replied to.

The problem is, they don't know what their own vision is either. ''We want slow methodical game-play, but also with a power fantasy feeling. We want people to try different builds, but we introduce mechanics that forces you to play a DPS. We don't want one screen destruction builds anymore, but you don't have a choice in order to enjoy the endgame. Crafting will be better, you don't like gambling ? Loot is meaningful, by that we mean no loot at all.''
