PoE 2 has lost over 80% of its players in 3 months.
" Steam PoE2 numbers account for every player since there isn't a standalone client. Steam PoE1 numbers don't account for every player since there is a standalone client that roughly accounts for more or less half the player base. For something that has alredy been discussed and proved several times over, some people seem intentionally daft to "prove" their points. " What? I have POE2 standalone, didn't even activate my steam code lol. |

" So why are you spreading misinformation? Most PoE1 players don't use the Steam Client, but instead, the standalone version and in PoE2 the increase of ppl using the Steam Client are new players and some from the Chinese realm. Normally, China has its own Client so they don't even show up on Steam at all. Furthermore, PoE2 has its normal standalone Client. We only look at the Steam numbers because these are the only numbers that are easily accessible and precise, but are not a great indicator of how many ppl are actually playing the game. For example, the "Ultimatum" league had a player count peak of 154k (based on Steam), but the "Frankfurt Realm" alone had a queue of 180k. So you can see, that Steam does not reflect the slightest how many are actually playing the game. Furtherfurthermore, it could be the argument made that every "non-casual" uses the standalone version for the reason that you can pre-load the league way before it starts to get a better queue position, something the ppl on Steam can not (PoE1). While websites like "activeplayer.io" don't present official numbers, they still use tools to estimate how many ppl login, are online, etc. So you can get at least an idea of how popular a game is. " You should have compared Poe2 start with Poe1 start. And here numbers are worse for POE2, as POE1 start has better and longer player retention. As for leagues - we will see that with next big POE2 update - and compare that to POE1 last league. I think numbers of retention will be the same, unless they ll improve POE2 significantly. " Yes all 3 are available on steam and outside steam, but Diablo 4 is the only one who got a steam release later than on Blizzards Plattform. |

" I'm sorry to inform you that this is just not true: ![]() PoE1s popularity increased over the time. Many people didn't know about Path of Exile and as you can see, the playerbase more or less increased over all the seasons. So you can say PoE1 had quite a bad start (with like 35k players) compared to now (Settlers of Kalguur 250k players) So PoE2 starting with 580k players is huge. It right now still has 3 times the amount of players compared to PoE1 at launch. At least if we only consider the steam numbers. Ofc I'm not sure how representive they are, but we won't get any better numbers then these. Dernière édition par AceNightfire#0980, le 18 févr. 2025 11:08:51

" Agree, I’m out till 0.2.0 (have been a while except occasional pop in) as well. We need natural t16s imo, and some non-mapping ‘old leagues’ like heist and delve to break the day up. (ALL typos lack of caps, punctuation and general errors are copyright Timbo Industries - Laziness Division)
