Ok, so... then ask GGG for a "softer-softcore version" of the game.

No, I'll respectfully give feedback in whichever way I choose. But thanks for trying.

Making the game easier will lose players on the other side too. So, were is YOUR demand constructive and not destructive by your own "logic"?

You don't see me advocating to remove the hardcore mode for players that want challenge and prestige.

What about just keeping XP penalty and one try per map, but letting the players choose the level of difficulty of the content they engage with, like let's say, something like Tiers going from, I dont know, maybe from 1 to 15 or something.

And if the players want, they could also, somehow, change the map parameters with like an item, let's call it a waystone, that they could alter with currencies for crafting, and choose or not to run it. Ho yeah, that would be nice.

And after a time, people could also add more modifiers to the maps they run by like running a special map like a tower and putting at the top another currency modified item, like a tablet, to add more challenges to the surrounding maps.

Ho yeah, so like that any players could adjust the difficulty of the content they run according to their abilities, gear, and build. And with more risks will come more rewards, and with less risks will be less deaths.

Sounds nice.

I'm willing to put up with the other stuff because I kind of understand it, but XP loss is the only deal breaker for me.

Well, your first post in this forum was feedback, but since then it's basically demanding GGG to change the game until it suits you (EXP loss related); and arguing with ppl who tell you "EXP loss will stay and has a reason".

That's why I told you "then ask for a softer-softcore version of the game".
Ppl wanted a harder version so they asked for Hardcore/SSF, you want an easier version then ask for that.

The only deal breaker for me is XP loss. Please elaborate how it makes sense to request for them to code a whole new separate mode to resolve a single pain point.

The ONLY change between the normal game and hardcore is "instead of losing XP on death - you lose your character". That's it. Nothing else.

So, when you want the softer-softcore version the only change would be "instead of losing XP on death - you lose no XP on death".

I think the main issue with this system is that it implements something that usually is only in a special mode like hardcore. You actually loose something - and not just a bit but a lot of time invested.

So even just running some maps can end up costing you lots of XP and its especially a big problem with the visual clutter and all the rather random insta-deaths.

This - besides oder things - also explains the main playstyle on map - screen-wipe - builds and people doing anything to avoid danger.

To be honest for me this sort of ruins the game since i want danger and i want combats that let me use skills dodge etc.

But now i actually always ask myself - do i really want to do that now - do i really want to risk XP atm? Its just not fun.
I cant even play my build like i want to - in melee and range because doing melee simply is too dangeorus so i mainly do ranged now with my monk ...

I get the Risk-Reward idea - but Risk isnt in line with Reward. You loose 10% of yo ur full XP bar no matter how much xp you have and depending on your level thats actually hours of progress.

The only thing this seams to lead to is ppl letting themselve getting carried high level players. So the solution seems to be to not play the game ...

Honestly - this system simply is too punishing - especially looking at all the unavoidable deaths, lags, bugs etc.

Sure they can do that then, but I hope you realize that it would kill the standard league population, as most players would probably opt for the mode without XP loss if nothing else is changed.

I dont see the issue - people dont play hardcore mode because they dont want that frustration - so why force somethign similar on them?

They could also think about adapting the system to make it less punishing.

No, it would not. The majority of players are not against the EXP loss because it's not affecting them in the way you might think.

The "softer-softcore version" would be a small community like Hardcore.
