loosing exp

Dude, seriously, what's your problem? You have an ego issue or something?

The fact that you cannot tolerate us asking for a separate league so we can enjoy the game while you still get to play it as it is says a lot about your character. No point in arguing with someone like you.

Have you seen I actually proposed another league ? With a balanced risk to reward system ?

Na, argue in your head bro.

Where do you get that number from?

Steam reviews, the same place you get your famous 80% loss of players (in a seasonal game).

Link to this proof that 80% of POE 2 players love XP penalties?

I keep seeing people accusing us of having an ego and not being willing to compromise. Do either of these words apply when you can't accept a loss and demand change.

YOU have no proof that a majority hates the EXP penalty, but WE can at least prove that over 10 years the player base grew WITH the EXP penalty AND if you look who is defending it... it's the veterans, so you COULD make a conclusion...

Claiming POE2 isnt for casual players is just gatekeeping. XP loss on death isnt a meaning challenge at all... it's an outdated time sink that discourages experimentation and drives casual players away. Plenty of tough games balance difficulty without punishing players arbitrarily

There is a lot of activities which aren't for casuals.

Piloting a plane. Free diving. Driving a Formula 1. Cooking for a wedding. Doing politics.

Can you still do them ? Yeah... you can try. You won't have much success but go for it champ ! Just remember that if you fail, it's not going to be really fun.

"But those aren't video games !!&!&!&"

And so what ? Some video games are DvD players. You can play them if you want. Some are harder and ask more of the players. And that's fine, there is enough games for everyone. You said it yourself : "Plenty of tough games balance difficulty without punishing players arbitrarily". Why do you have to insist on changing a game which isn't designed for you ? Why don't you play those instead ???

+ won

Yup and they/we stuck around for it as well

Also, as well as, including ...

It gained more players every single time WITH the system in place.

SMH the rage baiters head.

Who even said they enjoyed the exp penalty anyways? Who enjoys dying? Maybe by rage baiters logic we should just not beable to die.

Weak analogy all around. Video games are entertainment, not flying planes or free diving. POE is already complex and challenging. Punishing time sinks do not make the game better. Games evolve and POE should too, especially if they want to retain players and grow their user base. Saying "just play another game" (rest assured, I am) ignores the point. POE can keep its depth without outdated artificial barriers. If difficulty is the goal it should come from meaning mechanics, not arbitrary XP loss.

Flying planes and free diving are entertainment too. Are you for real ?

If GGG listened to you, you'd have a game where you can't ever die, and where grinding to level 100 would take barely a few hours. Ho, like D4, actually, as they cater to the crying vocal minority.

But please, tell us what are those so challenging game without punishment for failures that you play on the side. Tell us how fun they are, and how respected is the challenge they offer.

Number one, this does not answer my question. If you have a link to back up his claim, I'm still waiting.

Number two, there's overlap but the POE 2 player base is a different crowd from the POE 1 player base. The population more than doubled 1's all time best over ten years, but now 80% of them are now gone.

Seems more likely that (they loved the campaign & stopped playing when they got to end game) than your suggestion that 80% of players love the end game XP penalty system.

You guys keep saying this. Why would anyone want to fill their user base in with people that would rather complain, than learn how to play a game.
