EXTREAMLY OBVIOUS QOL GGG MISSED

5 pages just because someone has OCD? no need to overthinking it with the amount of portals when the issue is clearly OCD.

Wish their OCD worked on spelling.
Isn't this the place to give feedback? 5 pages because someone has OCD? No that isn't what this is. I'm not asking for more portals. All I did was suggest that one portal stay open after map completion. People are mostly just attacking me for daring to give a suggestion. I still haven't seen anyone give me a reason why it's a bad idea. All I see is people jumping on me for the way I like to play my favorite game.. and my grammar. The issue is not OCD. If you don't agree with me tell me why. I'm honestly curious to know. Or are you just here to naysay because it makes you feel relevant to the community? If you have nothing of substance to add to the conversation then don't. You are just being toxic.

Let me explain where my train of thought came from. I juiced up an area with 300% quantity and hit a map that had 4 breaches. I was rolling in loot and I was super excited I had a lot of t15 maps, tablets, catalysts, currency, and gear.. And yeah dude, I almost ran out of portals. It was at that point I had a thought.. What if I hit a map with 10 breaches?.. Honestly, why can't we have a portal stay open?.. So I made a quick post.. I never thought people would be so against it.

It's the only real player choice offered in the game. You can't choose how to craft, or what build to play really, so...how about you choose what loot to not pick up and just lose?

Fun right? Right? Literally every part of this game the devs asked themselves "how can we tweak this to limit/punish players?" and then they implemented every idea that hit the table.

It does feel like that doesn't it. I would like to hope that is what this feedback forum is for. To help craft a game that everyone wants. It's to bad there are so many people that come here and make ad hominem attacks and muddy the waters instead of giving good feedback on the issue raised.
No, your response is disingenuous. You posted a topic with a clickbait-style heading, and in your own post said the reason for your problem was OCD.

Inventory management is a thing in this genre. You are not supposed to pick up everything, and frankly should not.

I don't know if that's right or wrong (doubt it's either) but that's how it works. It's ok to give a different view, but just by the title of your post you make the developers out to be idiots, you as some genius, and neither is true.

I talked shit on your spelling, and I stand by it. Forget hoarding pixels, learn how to spell.

You guys were debating over economy.. yes the point got lost. I don't care about all that. I like to ID and craft on white and blues. I could care less if its not the most efficient way of making currency. Its how I like to play. And I know I'm not the only one. Having a portal stay open would literally hurt Noone and it would be easy to implement.

That wasn't the point at all. Seems you were the one that got lost....not the thread.

Yes...the market plays a role in this, but also literally everything else we discussed was tangential to the market.

It's part of the game experience to "learn" what to pick up, and what NOT to pick up. There is a reason for the existence of an "inventory" and there is a reason for a "stash". These only exist to teach you to pay more attention to what you pick up and NOT pick up everything.

You still CAN identify and craft everything....you just need to come prepared into the map.

The restricted amount of portals adds massive weight to that decision....on purpose. Adding even a single portal back in just for looting defeats the purpose of this design choice.

You might also "like" to run around without a weapon....that doesn't make it the right way to engage with the game (except for obvious unarmed builds). There are few necessary limitations on players in order to "guide" them into a gameplay loop. Limited inventory and ability to pick up items is crucial.

So few people ever stop to consider the "why" of various design choices made by GGG. They only consider how it impedes them in that particular moment. There is a broader "game" at play here.
Starting anew....with PoE 2

This is actually a great idea. 6 portals is a hangover from PoE1. But now that we have 1-death maps (which I love and want to keep in PoE2), why not just leave portals open, unless you die?

And honestly, if you want to spend 2 hours strip-mining a map, why shouldn't you be able to have fun doing it? You're engaging with the content and having fun playing a game!

I hope GGG considers this.
