10% xp penalty is far too frustrating

xp loss is how they balance survivability vs "muh deeps"

Not only that, but the game is harder than POE1. XP loss, on-death effects, and punishing debuffs NEED to be removed before or at actual launch. They have no purpose in the game since it's harder.
havent quite reached endgame yet (~60 in cruel A3 currently) so will be interesting to see how bad it actually is in maps.

The "10%" figure itself is irrelevant mostly, its how much time it represents. I know in POE1 my clumsy endgame build would hit a softcap around 92-94 where my deaths to uber content matches my exp gains.

Will be interesting to see how it goes in POE2. Considering i'll only be able to die once instead of 6 times, it might be an improvement !

Not everyone is supposed to get to level 100, that gives you something to strive for, and that's okay.

The game could instead have meaningful difficult content you need level 100 for with good gear and builds for even better stuff, and stuff to trade to alts like a level requirement downgrade resource, rather than justifying shit design with that.
Death penalty already exists, you lose all the map rewards and waystone, the game is filled with stupid, unseeable (practical gameplay), oneshots.
remove this penalty exp!! theres is no sense in this feature. 2002 mechanic lol
Losing the map after dying only once is sufficient punishment.

Is this the "kids in Africa" analogy?

If I wanted to experience Hardcore-like content, I'd play Hardcore.

This is Softcore, not Hardcore, not Mediumcore.

The fact that this is worse than the previous game shows an utter decline in design, and dismissal of the majority of their playerbase. It's like when they made Ruthless, and said it would stay separate and not change anything in the base game; then we saw all the changes because of Ruthless.

I'm not going to be "thankful" for my minimum wage pay that hasn't increased in 20 years just because people in another country don't get paid at all. That's terrible for them, and things should be better for all of us.
I agree.

In my opinion, 10% is too much of a penalty for poe 2. The game is harder and you're already punished severely for deaths in other ways.

I would rather they lessen the xp penalty or remove it entirely.
