Class gender locks still? This is not the way

You play as one of the exiles, each one has a different lore. You can check the "WANTED" poster GGG release a few days ago in Twitter.
I understand that you would like a character creation with gender, hair type and other features but they decided that as a game design feature. Maybe in the actual release of the game GGG will add some character creation but do not expect gender change.

This. You aren't making a new character in this world, you are choosing to be one of these established characters which already exist inside of the world and have connections to various people and places within the story.

Think of it as picking one of the "Origins" in BG3: you're complaining about Karlach being a woman or Gale being a man.
Yes it is a way! Most of us do not care about this stuff... about sex, and god forbid, this idiocy about pronouns. We just want to create builds, have fun. You are entitled to your opinion but I do hope GGG will never go with this "inclusion" bullshit.
Gender locking is how devs save time and money. I made a whole video about this. Look at Black Desert... they were the first real culprit.

It is archaic and cheap to gender lock. GGG failed, they should take some of the 100 million they just made and make REAL classes where you can customize their look and pick male or female. The OP is right, this is noobletville.

Totally agree, I don't want to play a chick so that rules out the classes I enjoy the most, very disappointed minutes after logging in for the first time and realizing this.

Character customization is a key part of these games.
they should just let us choose a character model first, and then choose a starting location on the tree, and let us choose any ascendancy we like.
Did OP just assume the character's gender? That's not being very inclusive.

And how were you able to determine their gender?

Ah, you need people to now say "X-X/X-Y chromosome locked" instead of using the word "gender"?
Seems unnecessarily complicated, but let's go with that then.

Other's noted that with a zoomed-out isometric camera view of your character covered in gear it didn't matter too much.
I did try playing the mage for a few hours, but my shrill witchy-poo voice popping up all the time was too much for me, so I make a monk.

Diversity comments?
Forcing the mage to have a shrill X-X chromosome witchy poo voice is diversity? That's a head scratcher.
Simple solution for OP.

Make the game you want to make, that's the very sentiment that got GGG started.

GL HF.
Honestly twice the work for riggers and animators etc for something that is entirely pointless.

Like seriously. Not once have I considered the gender of my character, how does it matter in the context of genociding monsters?

With a game so agile in terms of class and skills, can anyone explain to me why the easiest restriction-fix of all, class gender-lock, didn't get fixed in PoE 2?

well I myself only play female characters, but why are you complaining? In poe 1 there were only 3 female characters out of which one (Ascendant) was unplayable as a league starter in most of the leagues. They added more female characters to the game, now I have more options. I am pretty happy with that. Its my preference to only play female character, not my right as a gamer to be able to always chose it. If you don't like characters the game offers just don't play the game. Enforcing your personal beliefs on anyone is not the way...
