Playing the Acts has been torturous to me for a very long time.

Though that's an obvious exaggeration, you probably aren't too far off. Plus, it's not like they're removing all other league modes. No one is making you play Ruthless.

You know a lot of people complain about the "new vision" or write comments like yours...

But I wonder if you realize that the games description has always stated that Path Of Exile is "created by hardcore gamers, for hardcore gamers".

This isn't a new vision for PoE, this is the original vision. GGG is returning to their roots. The game was always meant to be for hardcore gamers, but somewhere along the way they lost sight of that... until recently. They have made a conscious decesion to focus on their Vision of what PoE was supposed to be, not what PoE is.

Item drops are not allocated to specific party members. Looting is entirely free-for-all. Items really matter. Better pick them up before someone else does.

More people will want to group up naturally for this. I think this will bring back party's in PoE in a FAT way.

Billboard will advertise for people to play with them. Having a friend list dedicated to this mode will be key too.

Not for everyone, but man doing some SLOW grouping for a change sounds so nice.
Are regular skill gem quest rewards still in Ruthless? or do we need to farm other skill gems with the original gems that we start with?
This is the best update I have ever seen, so far. The announcement alone has rekindled my desire to play this game. I've never been amazing at playing PoE, but I am super excited to see how far I can get before stopping xD

Your use of the word "abuse" shows that you probably don't know GGG's stance on this :

Logout macro are not and have never been a problem regarding game balance, GGG expect people to use them, and they design their encounters around them.
They want player to be able to get into pinch situations with adrenaline rush, "OH SHIT !" moments where you have to log out if you don't want to get destroyed.


I am not judging whether or not this is good or bad here, I am simply trying to explain what their stance is.

Please stop thinking that you speak for the whole community, as you don't and as there are players looking forward to id.

(On top of which : this does not take significant dev resources, which means that you are getting tilted over something that will not affect you)

This used to be the case, players used to need to juice their maps to sustain them.
Now map sustain is a joke, probably too much tbh ...

My friends stop playing bcs its unplayable for normal person, or run to SC. Bcs chall. rewards.

And what is more funny ... players who mostly want play this mode are from SC XD
