Set items on POE ??
|
Set items were nice, the bonus you get never made you the best, and it was a challenge to get the whole set, I dont see why it could be hated just why they arnt important right now

Wise opinion of a gold supporter...how many people agreed with him? Tell us..perhaps devs are listening....

zeto: +1. I think some of us have discussed something like that before. It removes the 'legendary' status from sets and emphasises the practicality of using 'like' items.
I really like it. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

This isn't actually the first time set items (and zeto's mention of set mods) have come up, as it happens; the idea's certainly still worth considering (albeit still ending up with balance concerns just from the sheer number of introduced mods necessary to make them interesting).
I'd love to see set mods implemented (especially ones that include interesting drawbacks) - but it can wait for now... I think. A unique item with a set mod would be rather tempting to design... I have wandered through insanity;
I have walked the spiral out. Heard its twisted dreamed inanity In a whisper, in a shout. In the babbling cacophony The refrains are all the same: "[permutations of humanity] are unworthy of the name!" |

Aye, Skivverus, I considered it but felt it would be too dramatic an element to introduce/request for one item. I was actually amazed they had the 'feature' I wanted on my item already lurking in the works, because it's something I've never seen in a ARPG and not many people will like it very much.
But set mods, what a wonderful idea. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

How about the idea that special orbs can give set attributes to any item ?
There would be need, let's say 4 orbs for a complet set and using the orbs as dye, you can add set attributes for diferent items. Just for example, you can "dye" a rare helm with "set orb of Oak" after that "dye" an axe with the same orb and after a shield and finally boots. In this way you can create your own "Oak set". Additional attributes would work as in D2 sets: with 2 set items less bonuses, full bonuses for maxed, 4 items set. Bonus attributes could be linked with item levels, so you can have an "Oak set" at lv. 20 and 50 (ofc at higher level, the bonus attributes are more rewarding). Orbs can be traded of course. Using orbs for creating sets would fit in the logic of PoE. Just an idea... Dernière édition par Mist53#5231, le 1 mai 2012 à 07:36:18

Listening to all your opinions I think open up this post it has been a good idea.... The option of "sets" orbs it's another amazing idea from people who LOVES this game and wanna see it shining like a star.
Thanks folks¡¡¡ ;) |

" But this would mean the orbs are mandatory for everyone, as they just make everything better than it already is. If they added an orb like this, the set bonuses should also have drawbacks. ''Stand amongst the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters.
The silence is your answer.'' IGN: Vaeralyse |

Anyone agreed with the idea of "set mods"? It could be a fantastic addition to POE IMHO.... :)
