What is the average level of deaths in P.O.E?
Speaking of giggling at deaths, and I KNOW this is evil...but hear my out.
I tried to map a little too early on my HC Ranger (64), and in Overgrown Shrine the boss can be a little difficult without enough planning or burst dps. I didnt know this. So I run in, freak, run out, and train all the monsters to the doorway. So I enlist some help. A 70 witch, and a 69 Shadow. I TELL them the situation, they say "No Problem" They zone in first, 5 seconds in the witch just EXPLODES. Boom, dead. The Shadow is so desperate and freaked out that he begins running in circles around the room of 40 monsters yelling "OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT" In chat. Too scared to stop to open a TP. Im laughing my ever-loving ass off at this guy screaming, and still cannot believe the witch had died. Finally the boss catches the shadow and he too dies. I zone back into town, and nearly suffocate and piss myself from laughing. Still waiting on karma, I know it's just bidding it's time. Prylos // RoA Marauder 89+

1 death per character, but I play hardcore. If my toon hits 70+ I'll keep him/her in default, so if I get a full respec, I can have a character to mess around with.

Probably 15 times on my first character, up to level 50.
And I have lost 3 characters in HC so far, usually around level 40-50 to retarded mistakes. Last one, I went through a flicker mob cave too quickly without a totem available. |

" It would be nice if things were that easy. Often the issue is one of small repeated distractions and quick runs AFK, closing the game VS pausing isn't effective in such situations. If you repeatedly close out the game then you repeatedly lose any progress you made, and out level your area very quickly, while potentially becoming bored. Using a portal scroll is better, and a portal gem is superb, I had one in closed beta. Yet that too takes time to set up and use, versus the idea of simply clicking the X. A mixture of the two solve a lot of the issues, but at a cost. If your constantly X'ing out, or porting home then the game becomes more repetitive and frustrating. I have to compare the fun I get from playing to the experience penalty. Since I do full clears of each area the XP penalty doesn't concern me so much. Thus I choose to rely on skill and making durable builds that can survive better. For my current "main" character the death to level ration is 1/4, I average one death every four levels. " This post also gives me something to think about. I always solo, I don't have a lot of time to wait for a good group, and unless I have a babysitter being randomly AFK in a group would be totally irresponsible. I wonder if this statement is true. Does the death count drop for groups? Are the high death posters mostly solo players, and the low death count guys group players? Or is this poster totally off base? |

Started after open beta, First character was a templar speced for auras. My friend i rolled with is a necro so i though it would work well. Got him to lvl 62 in act 3 of Merc and gave up on him. Too poor to do melee character right or something, i get insta killed almost if i try to melee 3 white mobs :/ and death toll is at 91. Seems if you want to go melee you have to spec for life steal and max hp rather than armor/block rate. My second character is a witch speced for lighting (mostly spark because its fun). Currently lvl 71, but havent made it to maps yet. Game crashed on piety kill and haven't retryed yet. Death toll on her is 192. I use the 30% more dmg on low hp passive along with 100% mf boots so thats probly where alot of my deaths came from , many from normal difficulty tho because of no xp loss. It took a bit to make the build work good, but i feel like i died alot less on her AND have more fun than on my templar. Even with that amount of deaths i think only around 20 of them are from the past 8 lvls or so, so not much xp lost (tho i still get it fast). Reflect elemental used to insta kill me, but since i've had 75% all res its only been mostly painful lol. tldr: lvl 62 Templar 91 deaths lvl 71 witch 192 deaths HC = impossible for me lol Dernière édition par Igcis#2058, le 20 mars 2013 à 14:29:53
