A broad P2W definition in law would paint premium stash tabs P2W
" Nah. There are multiple correct reasons in this thread why they are not p2w and it wouldn't fly in court anyway. Certainly not the target of the proposed legislation in the US, of which similar already exists in Europe, e.g., Belgium. At this point, PoE is quite safe from any legislation re: Skinner boxes and will stay that way as long as guys like the OP like to gift 4 figures of cash to a gaming company. |

You know there's a big difference between "Freshman senator grabs a headline with bill targeting video games" and an actual law, right?
Regardless, there's a fair amount of Russian video game companies with shady MTX practices that might be impacted by this; I'm sure the president would be instructed to veto it, on the off chance Congress passed it. |

Acquisition lets you trade with no premium tabs. Trust me I used it for years before premium tabs. You can price batch whole tabs just like premiums. (it's actually easier to use in many ways) But IMO trading isnt winning its cheating. So you dont even need acquisition.

" It does get listed and it doesnt require a 3rd party program. " again, its only artificial dificulty if you chose to do shit the difficult way when theres an easier free alternative, instead of pissing about with a 3rd party app, all you need to do is open your inventory panel when creating a forum post, clicking on what you want to sell, and set the price... its probably easier to do than it is to wank around setting up acquisition if thats still the one that people use ... and aslong as you format your post correctly, it gets listed on xyz/gggtrade via the api with pricing. the "advantage" of a premium tab is that you do that in game, the problem with it is that now 95% of knobs just dump shit in a self pricing "10c everything" tab and forget about it, ignore requests to buy etc, if trading remained manual then we wouldnt have the pain in the ass problems we have now where you end up buying not what you want, but the 20th option down the list because the rest are all ignored because most of them arent even particularlybothered about trading so dont reply. |

Content and mechanics are deliberately balanced around having lots of stash which results in a lesser mechanical experience unless you spend cash. It's not much different than selling movementspeed, xp booster or currency for real money.

One can argue that if this game is entirely free, there should be an incentive to actually spend money on the game, especially when we compare that to 60$ games which ALSO come with P2W lootboxes on top of it.
I think with around ~20$ of "mandatory" (actually quality of life) spending, this game can hardly be discussed as P2W. There is also SSF, where the value of a premium tab is extremely diminished. |

It's so funny to see the mental gymnastics people are willing to undertake to defend p2w.
Tired of trolls? Ignore them.
