Is Betrayal not supposed to be related to Jun ? If it works like Alva with incursions, you should be able to skip Betrayal content by not speaking to her...

I play in Standard and never the Betrayal League before.
I never talked to Jun (although she appears in Oriath with an exclamation mark), but playing maps the Syndicate encounters (interventions) appears (and nearly killed my character, although I have fortunately no freezes)!

And after killing two of them I clicked on their names and the Syndicate board screen (in fullscreen!) appears. Cause I did'n know what that is (and even in the POE online help, there is no help topic about Syndicate), I looked in the POE wiki article... and then I switched back to POE and my character was dead (no monsters around!!!).

What is that for a poor mechanic?

As i agree on there is no help to understand new mechanics when you never played the league, i will still remind you the first rule of Path of Exile : Never alt-tab when in a map or you will find you character dead because any monter could have wandered aroud you and kill you and go away, it might not be even be a syndicate member.

The only times i can alt-tab when in a map is because :
1/ i cleared the map
or
2/ i have enough life regen that one mob can't hurt me.

You do realize that you can buy points too right, not just packs?

True, but I can't see many actually doing so to any great extent when the better offers (packs) are available... at least not spending 5-10x as much on points than on packs.

Lol... you don't get THAT much more value out of packs, but yeah they're obv better. Still people do buy points too, as have i.
Quit after Legion, rejoined PoE to see what the game's like now in 3.12.
Well, today I just Alf-F4ed after another bunch of deaths to stupid betrayals and actually have no plan to return to this game until they become optional.

I want to play my build, which does everything I WANT TO DO just fine. But, as OP says, we can't just do so, cos someone decided we need random boss-level encounters.

Thank you, but no fun for me here anymore.

So i suppose it is a good bye because they won't make it that optional. It is already nerfed down by 85-95% from original league in their spawn rate so either you never play the game again or build your character to be able to encounter those boss level mobs.

To me it seems more like a learning mechanics things opposed to Betrayal is shit.

And still, did not found Jun in maps yet so i don't really know if they are really not avoidable at all or not like Alva's incusion are ( If you don't speak to her you won't go in an incursion).

Got to be honest, I can't blame you.
I played Betrayal league and found it irritating and frustrating. Add to that the incursions and Bestiary with Delve and it felt like a mish-mash of content rather than anything cohesive and engaging.

I have spent 0 mins in the synthesis league because I felt that GGG had simply replayed a poor league and added another 'mechanic' to the game focusing on quantity rather than quality.

I'm not a guy who can spend 8+ hours a day grinding and I don't expect to get top tier gear on a single map run, but I would expect the game to be enjoyable for the more casual players.
As it stands, it's just a push of mixed goods onto what is otherwise a great game.

I don't know where GGG will go from here. But where the game is right now is not attracting me to spend my time on it.

I jump onto the site now and then looking for hopeful news in the dev manifesto, but until then I'll sit in the sidelines waiting for a good and engaging POE league to return.

You might like to watch the recent video by Phox called - "Why i'm not currently playing PoE Synthesis League" - He said pretty much the same thing as you.

Its so sad GGG hasnt bothered to find out that many of us are unhappy atm.

I think they are very well aware of it by now. But there is only so much they can do during a league, they can't abandon it after all. As evident by the constant and rather substantial patches (3.6.3 is just around the corner, changing yet again a lot of stuff around) they try to make it into something more people are willing to engage with.

I'm convinved that there is a lot more they could do to sort things out before a league starts though. Proper playtesting should be the main priority from now on, cause you can come up with a million concepts that sound cool on paper, but making that into an enjoyable experience is a whole different beast.
I've moved on for the time being. I'm remaining optimistic that GGG has been taking notes on what the community is saying, and maybe I'll come back some day.

It's sad to say goodbye to a game I used to love, but still hoping I can happily return later on.

Won't miss Syndicate though.
