Faster casting is a better option than infused or fire pen considering quality. It also seems like a QoL upgrade so I'm using it in my 5 link currently. Wish I would have swapped sooner as leveling was painfully slow with totem only. Once RF went on, leveling was a breeze. Enjoying the build as I am entering maps. My only concern is single target dps is low. Hoping this sorts itself out with skill points, gem level, and quality. Hoping to clear Uber elder on my starter build as I wasted a lot of time and currency trying last league (tbf it was my first real league). @OP Given your condition, you should consider a Herald of agony build. I want to use scorching ray, any advising when i put in a gear(setup to replace), tips for link supp? Im LVLUP with this build, but i gonna delete and restart from zero again. Normally I respond to everyone that posts, even if they've had their questions answered by others (I'm of the opinion that the more people that answer a question, the more people learn). The guide doesn't ask for help but it allows for tons of flexibility for personal taste. The reason I don't use Totems with Damage over Time skills is because DoT skills don't stack in damage. So if I had 3 RF totems all applying Damage to one target, only the strongest RF would deal damage, the rest would be pointless. The new Holy Flame Totem appealed to me because of its physical damage (good for the Chieftain) and the Consecrated Ground. The other skill I was considering was Purifying Flame. It deals physical damage and creates Consecrated Ground too. Even though Holy Flame Totem does less damage, I chose it for the survivability of casting then moving. Blade Vortex is really good for this build. But it's a huge mana hog. So I'd do two things: 1)use Incinerate linked with Cast while Channeling and Blade Vortex, then your supports. It'll use way less mana and give you way faster cast speed to max your BV stacks. 2) Select Avatar of Fire on the tree so BV becomes 100% fire damage.
