With regards to everyone experiencing performance stutter the first time they use a Totem, that is entirely normal and will be resolved in the future. It's because the totem graphics aren't cached until the first time you use it each game session.

It isn't each game session, though.

It is EVERY MAP.

The first time you use skele totem in any zone/area/map, there is a small freeze when you pop the totem then a massive freeze when the totem pops the skeles.

The graphics are cached then while you remain in that zone/area/map. But as soon as you enter another, same again.

Oh? For me it only stutters the first time I use it each game session. Moving to another area/zone doesn't cause the totem to re-trigger the stutter.

Then I wish I was you :(

The problem is (other than actually forgetting about it until you pop totem and are frozen) one can't 'pre-load' them into the cache, when it is like I have it.

In order for the totem to pop the skeles, it needs mobs. So on entering every zone, I need to try to get a safe small pull to load the cache, which isn't often even possible never mind easy. With my build, I am at my weakest on entry/out of combat, my dps, control and healing improve massively once I'm 'chugging on gas' so to speak. So the first thing I really need to do is pop the skele totem, but it actually makes me more at risk.
Casually casual.

For the longest time i have not ran into any problems with fps but lately it has been so unstable. Not sure when it started or what patch caused it but my FPS has been fluctuating too much as of late.

For me it's lightning arrow and chain. Even when I solo I see my fps fluctuate from 200 down to 20 and back up when i hit a pack of 10 or more mobs. The old LA didn't mess with my FPS as much as the new one does.

I don't think it's the new LA that is causing this but there has to of been some sort of change that drastically effected my FPS lately.

The game is pretty unplayable when I have Vsync enabled. And when i turn it off there is still massive fluctuations in fps with each shot but it doesn't dip as low as it does when Vsync is on, making the game at least playable.. The only problem with this is my video card runs a bit hotter with Vsync disabled(I've been experiencing unrelated GPU heat issues).

I'm glad to see others are having the same problems as me because I thought the problem was with my PC. Hopefully we can see a fix or improvement soon to the massive fluctuations in FPS from spell effects.
at the moments, its not really enjoying to play. Playing in windowed mode, and minimizing the window every now and then + maxing it back again to get some min of fluent play until it starts again to soft-stutter. Have no clue whats causing the problems. Esp when it was so unproblematic before 10b.

I've used the Spell Totem with Raise Zombie and I've used a Rejuvenation Totem, if I can get my hands on a Raise Skeleton gem then I'll see how that works with Spell Totem.

Oh, a band aid solution (one which I can't believe I didn't do sooner), if of course one remembers.

On entering each map, cast totem, remove spell totem gem and cast the skeles, return spell totem gem = both now cached ready for supported cast of skele totem.
