FPS Since 0.10.2
" Hi Chris,i can confirm that since 0.10.2 till 0.10.3b something went wrong as i experience me too serious graphic performance degradation. I never had big issues,running with a 7950 boost 3gb,just the common problems with Poison Arrow,Ice shot,Skeletons etc...but now there is something which is triggered at some point and graphic performance gets greatly reduced. Exiting to Login screen and reentering in game brings back smooth performance,untill it happens that the issue gets triggered again. I tried to replicate the problem and i can say that 95% of times when i go at the Ledge (merciless) and run a bit around Kuduku with all the mob packs following me,after the boss starts firing sparks the problem gets triggered. The performance gets degraded and i experience continuous microstuttering. Rezoning doesn't "clear" the problem,again: logging out and back in,brings back smooth framerate. I hope you guys can get a bit more concerned about graphic performance optimization because is indeed becoming a major issue. I would prefer that you dedicate a couple of weeks to this issue bringing out possible graphic optimization patches instead of new skills. Visual effects have really serious flaws and i think it's time to get serious about it. This can't be overlooked any further. In general i wish you guys good work,keep on rocking :) | |
My game will freeze for a second when a player joins the zone. I never had this problem until recently and it seems to be getting worse.

Since the new patches my FPS has noticeably dropped. Lightning effects and cold effects REALLY make it drop. Drops to an unplayable level.
Crafting doesn't exist in POE. Gambling does...and the house always wins.
Velocireptile - I LOL'ed. Which made me fart. I wish the office were empty right now :( Hardlicker - I had to push the dog out of the way so I could get to the sexy quilt. |

i tested a bit,
when first entering an area after loading and logging into the game everything runs smooth- casting etc. But after zoning, things getting worse. This soft-pumping/stuttering occurs when i move my char, every 2-3 steps it makes the scrolling slows down and speeds up again. for me its totally unimportant what skill i used. Even w/o doing anything else then running around, the problem occurs after 1x zoning (atm esp in act2, with darkenss enabled) -have shadows disabled per default -changing vsync and triple buffer: no effect -changing number of prerendered frames: no effect -disabled fsaa and af: same thing -disabled post processing: no effect -changed to medium textures: overall abit smoother, that stuttering is less in effect but does still exist. -changed resolution, windowed, maxed window: no effect, unless playing on resolutions below 1280x n, then it gets softer for me , it doesnt look like a performance thing, rather than some BUG with the routines that got introduced with 10.3.b p.s the game is played from a SSD, the shadercache and gamelog files are hardlinked to a ramdisk. Don't know about you guys, but for me 95% of the performance problems are triggered in groupplay only !
As soon as another player is on the screen my fps drop by 75% and it gets really really hard to see anything. IGN: Darkrox (not my main, just for easy contact)

the weird thingis: when is alt-tab out -weit a bit- and tab in again- the stutter is gone for a short while ~5-10 min

Try toggling Post Processing in the Video Options and applying it, then undo the change and applying it again. See if that regains normal performance when recovering from minimizing the game.

" It isn't each game session, though. It is EVERY MAP. The first time you use skele totem in any zone/area/map, there is a small freeze when you pop the totem then a massive freeze when the totem pops the skeles. The graphics are cached then while you remain in that zone/area/map. But as soon as you enter another, same again. As for the other issue. I get this, too. Not every time, but a lot, after Alt-tabbing then returning, I go to 12-20 FPS. The only way to fix it is to relog. Casually casual.
