POE punishes normal players more and more

Asking for a better description of encounters especially something u can do for a limited time. Where also you can only have 1 shot before grinding to that point again for 2 weeks will not destroy the game imo...

Personally as a "casual" player which in my book just means i have less time and a job and other rl stuff to attend too. But I just take my time and actually read up on ( most of the time) what certain mechanics and encounters do. Although i do agree it feels like you are reading a book of 200 pages some times... Anyway casual or not the best thing to do is always find some info about certain encounters before tackling it if you desire to do a challenge with our limited time.

Too those bashing "casuals" instead of helping out i come only too the conclusion to this. Basically saying it is great having a game that is best suited for hardcore gamers who don't want to take a job and sitting on your butt for 12-16 hours a day. Yeah that is something to be proud off and to consider an accomplishment that helps society. We all trying to have fun but the same text i put on here above does not help anybody.

Anyway again to the OP the best way i see to tackle challenges when you have limited time is to read or watch video guides. It is better to waste 1 to 10 minutes + to read/watch something then to just go in blindly and waste 2 weeks of progress with our limited time.

Personally I take it easy and to my knowledge it does not seem necessary to beat mastermind boss to make your build work, although i might be wrong.

So it took me 2 weeks to get to Mastermind. Hell yeah. Entered as soon as possible - my mistake. Lost all the portals, almost whole lvl and future temptation to play this league.
There is no explanation at all about the boss mechanics. If it would be easily available and i could replay to experiment what killed me actually it could be better. But i refuse to play another 2 weeks to get to the mastermind again. Its too slow. The fight itself is messed up, i really dont know what to do, where to stand, there are some marks sometimes near my character but guess what - i dont see them becouse of my tectonic slam ground AoE ... Awesome ...

I think this is the crux of what bugs me about this league, and POE in general. There are so many areas of the game where I end up dying and have no idea what it was that killed me. I'm happy to spend time learning from my mistakes, but like OP, when it takes 2 weeks to get to the Mastermind and then the fight itself tells you nothing about what's happening, where's the fun? Everything in the fight was just green or black glowy things, and sometimes they hurt me and sometimes I think I was supposed to stand in them. I think?

Where many people jump to the conclusion with casual players is not that we want everything spoon-fed to us and that we expect to get to 100 in a week at 2hrs a day, it's that some things feel unobtainable unless you no-life the game. "Casual" doesn't have to mean "bad at the game", it just means some of us have jobs and families that we need to spend time with too. And when it takes 2 weeks to get to something like the Mastermind and then the fight tells you nothing about what is happening, there's very little enjoyment in that as a game mechanic.

For my own experience, it was basically what OP had except I breezed through every syndicate encounter prior to the final boss. I had no idea what the spaghetti mess was supposed to do so I just picked things that I felt were the best educated guess from the text. Imagine my surprise when the final encounter was completely ruined for me when every other encounter leading up to it was easy.

Yeah, just imagine, that GGG adds several skills gems to PoE, but without any description, only names. Eventually, players will learn, what those skills really do, as well as their scaling and other important data - and it will be written on 3-rd party sites - so why GGG should bother?
But will you, as a player, be happy with a game, that hides important data from you? Personally, i dont.
Hiding important info from player does NOT makes game any more "non-casual" or "hardcore", or "difficult" in my opinion. It just shows, that its developers are too lazy to make it properly!
