POE punishes normal players more and more
" Game shouldn't be balanced around playing 4+ hours a day for 3 months or trading. It should be balanced around solo play with group play being more rewarding. Right now it's balanced around group play and solo play is miserable. I have 3-3.5K hours in game. (moved from steam to let kids use my steam account.) The only content I haven't done is Aul cause I can't find him ever. And Uber Elder because my elder never spawns in red maps and I just dont' want to spend an entire day dragging him there, I could easily do it, just dont' care enough cause I know the fight would typically not challenge a current build or would slaughter it so ehh. In all that time I've made 3 6 links myself, and found a perfect Nebuloch. Otherwise I've nickle and dimed my way to 6 links by crafting jewels. This game treats solo players like fucking pond scum. In my humble experience. |

" So tru. If we start making this game easy, we're just going to be destiny 2, with players running the content dry in a single evening. What keeps people on this game is the challenge. People enjoy a challenge, even casuals. Just look at how huge challenging games are on consoles. People love that shit. Getting rid of the game's distinguishing features in a sea of easy ARPGs would be suicide. If anything, we should be running some ads, trolling the other games for being too ez ^_^ Dernière édition par PathxofxDante#1683, le 5 janv. 2019 à 21:43:55

" As some others said, there were one-shot mechanics at the start of the game, and if anything, they are better telegraphed now. Hell, Invasion was the most one-shot 'friendly' league ever ... SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

" But dude... here I am knowing that I'm a decent player, playing the way I want to play in a dedicated fashion, which isn't really the sort of way that you get rewarded with completed challenges for, and just because I do that, I'm stuck with a 5 in my name which lets everybody reading this know that I'm not playing by the same rules as they do, and that makes them think poorly of me.... oh fucking poor me.... What were we talking about anyway? (y) < that's code for a thumbs up emogi on Facebook. Dernière édition par Boneshaka#7860, le 6 janv. 2019 à 02:30:56

" You could improve your character first though, your gear is absolutely terrible I have to say. Your build can work, you could smash most of the content with it, if you optimize it. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

I lost my 2 weeks of vacation trying create my own build. 5 garbage builds. Then i go to poeninja, study best ssf hardcore builds and now i finally have build which satisfied me.

I can sympathise with much of what you've said and you may have some valid points about betrayal league, but I don't think you have the right perspective as a casual player...
I'd call myself casual, I've only had a handful of characters to 90, i've never done shaper, uber atziri, delve past 300, 36 challenges... I play on and off for about 2 months of a league, and this is fine. There is always more to do than I have time for and just like any worthwhile pursuit in life, you accept your limitations and push for the best YOU can achieve. Its unfair to expect to be able to compete with those who play 10 hours a day when they have to make that time by sacrificing other life activities (career, family, hobbies etc) In short, normal players aren't being punished by being denied content, just like normal people aren't being punished by being denied Olympic medals. |

" the game is already balanced. but it is done half-way so: people who are casual yet they think they arent are allowed to progress using skills like Arc most wannabe pros would get nowhere with crutches like Arc that can carry even blind brick to end game thats why Arc is so popular, thats why most players who mock the OP use Arc and thats why 25% of all players right now use Arc in some form.. game is hidden-casualised and without it it would have lost LOTS of players. |

" I think this is the crux of what bugs me about this league, and POE in general. There are so many areas of the game where I end up dying and have no idea what it was that killed me. I'm happy to spend time learning from my mistakes, but like OP, when it takes 2 weeks to get to the Mastermind and then the fight itself tells you nothing about what's happening, where's the fun? Everything in the fight was just green or black glowy things, and sometimes they hurt me and sometimes I think I was supposed to stand in them. I think? Where many people jump to the conclusion with casual players is not that we want everything spoon-fed to us and that we expect to get to 100 in a week at 2hrs a day, it's that some things feel unobtainable unless you no-life the game. "Casual" doesn't have to mean "bad at the game", it just means some of us have jobs and families that we need to spend time with too. And when it takes 2 weeks to get to something like the Mastermind and then the fight tells you nothing about what is happening, there's very little enjoyment in that as a game mechanic. For my own experience, it was basically what OP had except I breezed through every syndicate encounter prior to the final boss. I had no idea what the spaghetti mess was supposed to do so I just picked things that I felt were the best educated guess from the text. Imagine my surprise when the final encounter was completely ruined for me when every other encounter leading up to it was easy. |

" I'm at 6 days 15 hours played and at 37 challenges. I can probably reduce this to 4 days played, if I invest in challenges and not in my build. Starting next month, I won't be able to put nowhere near this amount of time in the game. With how the game has been developing, I'm not even sad at this. I'm just happy I won't be grinding stupid "challenges" anymore; I'll be playing something that lets me play it for an hour a day. Not this time consuming unrewarding nonsense of a game. “We are the race of flesh, We are the race of lovers.” Dernière édition par Frostride#6705, le 6 janv. 2019 à 04:39:06
