Alt f4 being instant log out
I must agree with some statements here that alt+f4 is just lame. How can people do that and call themselves hardcore players? Bunch of hypocrites.

Eh, I don't get it. If you Alt F4 to save yourself from a death you bumbled into, how is that any different than playing in standard? That's a serious question, no troll, I really don't understand the thinking behind how it is different.

Just wait until you get fucked over multiple times on DC/crashes in HC far in on your PC's, then you might start to see why the delay suggestion is a terrible idea. Experienced it first hand. It's not fun at all to have 300-400 hours + wiped to such a hiccup, not to mention the amount of QQ on the forums would increase tenfold.
It looks like a good idea on paper, but practically, it's not so good, once you seen what it can do to screw you over being unlucky on having a hiccup on PC/net. I stand that having your life decided on that is much worse for the game overall compared to the former, as much as that is lame as well. Dernière édition par Bolto#3453, le 5 juil. 2013 à 10:36:23

If the game had no desync or lag, there would be a logout/dc timer. HC population would also be down about 25% I think. :)

If your computer locks up because you spammed alt+f4 or some other combination of circumstances, you will stay in game for a few. You cannot spam logout button. That's one of the differences.
Otherwise, alt+f4 is as fast as logout other than the time to do either action. Yes, it is the same (all those who are going to try to say it isnt...) Dernière édition par Solrach#6486, le 5 juil. 2013 à 14:22:38

" Since Chris' opinion holds more weight than others, this should also put to rest " if F4 is instant or not." ------------------------------------------ [–]siffinleexduolc 61 points 5 months ago Alt F4 and logout are exactly the same. As soon as the application exits and as soon as the logout button is pressed, packets are sent to log the user out. If you die on the server before it receives the logout, you will die. So if there was network lag, it could possibly take over a second for this to happen. [–]chris_wilsonLead Developer 71 points 5 months ago Despite the downvotes, he is completely correct. |
