Getting stuck in infinite loading screens

Hi,


Every once in a while, I get stuck in seemingly infinite loading screens. The cogs disappear and then nothing happens. The game doesn't crash, I get no errors and I don't get booted to the main menu,it's just stuck on the loading screen until I manually close the game via Task Manager.

I've lost a bunch of Offerings this way and it's really starting to get on my nerves. While mapping etc it's not a huge problem since I can just force close the game and log back on and my portals are still there, but when trying to farm the Uber Lab it really starts being a problem.

This is on the Steam client if it matters.

I suspect my character actually makes it into the zone I was travelling to, however. After rebooting the game once after getting stuck loading an Abyssal zone, I found that there were mobs surrounding the portal at the beginning, as if my (or my golems) presence had drawn them there.

I just can't confirm it since all I see is the loading screen. Im not sure if it's relevant, but I figured any information could be helpful.


*Tried waiting for 10 minutes.
*Tried all the different DX options.
*Tried lowering all sorts of settings
*Tried going outside (cold, can't recommend)

Im at a loss, never had this problem before.


Any idea what causes this?


Some PC info that may or may not be relevant:

Intel core i5 3570k
Nvidia GTX 660ti
8GB ram
White case ?? Has a door on it.

Uh.

Please send help? :|


If there's any other information that could help narrow this down, please let me know.

Edit: I tried using the standalone client and just had the same thing happen on it. Guess it's not related to the Steam client then...

I have the same issue, but i suspect my internet connection as i also have issues with other websites not loading + I cannot login to xbox live either.

Hmm, doesn't sound like what I have.

I've no issues with connecting to any websites or such. Can have twitch/youtube/netflix open on my other screen while playing and I've never noticed any hickups or anything when I get stuck in these infinite loading screens.

If it was internet related I would assume the game would kick me to the login screen, but it doesn't.

Appreciate the input though, hope you find a solution to your issue.

Mine doesn't kick me to login screen either its just keeps loading until the cogwheels disappear and it stays like that. All those sites work fine for me too. Including this website. its things like speedtest/xbox live etc that do not work for me.

I just tried Speedtest and it works for me. I don't own anything Xbox related, so can't test that though.

No one knows of a fix? It's still happening...


I specifically made my first character a lab farming build and with that as my main content at the moment, the game is quite literally unplayable.

Edit, starting to happen again, even with Directx11. Though, it happens much less frequent.


Happened to me about every second map. Sometimes twice in a row after executing the poe task and restarting the game. After I switched to run the game with Directx11 it has never happened again.

This has been happening to me since the last patch. I've did everything but reinstall windows to prove this ins't a problem on my side, while GGG has done everything possible to deflect and reflect responsibility for the issue.

There's nothing wrong with my ISP, diagnostic has proven this, the only weird thing I've spotted was from GGG's ISP, which they quickly came to defend. It isn't my computer as I've done a full reinstall, and made sure everything was up to date. SURPRISE, still happening.

So I just have to wait for support to respond, if they respond. I was informed on steam that they have a large volume atm and that doesn't surprise me.

What's annoying is until the last patch I had virtually no complaints, but now I'll have to warn new players that the game is great, until it doesn't work correctly, then you're basically on your own.

Im glad something worked for you, unfortunately it seems to happen to me ragardless of what DX settings im on.

I hear your frustration, and feel it too.

At this point I cannot see if being a problem on my end. Don't have any issues in any other game(s) and if it was ISP related im fairly certain I'd notice it someplace else too, but I don't.

Never had any problems in this game before either. Every league you read about people having various problems but I've never experienced any personally - until now.

And like I said previously in this thread, if it werent for the fact that I decided to roll a lab farmer as my starter this league it wouldn't have affected me as much, as it's just a lost portal normally, but having it happen time and time again whilst trying to farm uber lab is just soul breakingly horrible...

Looking at other threads on this subforum though it kinda feels like you have to have a reddit outcry in order to get a response, sadly.

Probably not the best idea to launch a new league mere weeks before a large portion of your staff goes on holiday, but what do I know.
