I would add on this next part if Shav's remains the way it is: +60% chaos resistance.

I would much prefer the nerf to Shav's though; if that property is removed from Shav's, your CI looks really good.

XX Damage reduction when you get hit by enemies within XX range. Could be a passive, a build in mods on melee skill etc. Its not new & works. games like D3 has done this.

Ranged characters can use that with point blank making them even more OP.

...face it ...the only way to fix melee is to make it ranged as well ...give all single target skills massive AOE ...bringing ranged characters down to melee level would just destroy them as well not fix the other

The easiest way, not the only way. The results of making everything similar are appropriately underwhelming in the long run, though, which may be an issue or it may not.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

GGG answered that question a while back.

Look at the most recent melee skill designs and you know what melee is supposed to be.


Ofc you free to like or dislike the design choice, but that ship sailed long time ago.

Obviously, just making a point it's the way they chose and not the only way, so nobody should feel bad about disliking it.

best shaper killer build is melee

he uses a 2h sword to hit insane dps amounts on the boss

and a diff 2h sword to flicker spam insta kill any trash

melee is fine-


don't make melee ranged, then it is not melee anymore ,kind of takes the point out of it lol

Fully agree, but hows that different to bow skills or spells? Like puncture or frost nova...
There are really strong and really bad choices everywhere.

To me the more important question is:
Has the gap between really strong and really bad to be as huge as it is right now?
