Why is D2 WhirlWind a 16+ yr skill still function better than Cyclone? Even PoEReddit agrees.

What? Name me one interesting boss mechanic in D2 that didnt get completely trivialized with gear. It was literally "stand next to x, press right mouse button until health is at zero and get loot."

They probably don t want to create some special animation breaks when a character have one foot higher than the ground because of standing on a pebble. They could just make a no-clipping on those objects, would look ugly but would give gameplay a much smoother experience.

cyclone needs to be turned into a channeling skill

each stages:

- More damage

- Less mana cost (momentum logic)

- less likely to follow your direction, behaving somewhat like Spark or D2's tornado if you prefer

ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it
It clears maps quickly, it's good for bosses, it's good for survival. IIRC people even farm T16 and Shaper with Cyclone. Cyclone is amazing right now.

(Almost) exactly what I was gonna say too. Except it needs to be a controllable continuous channeled skill. That's the only real difference between poe and d3 cyclone/ww mechanics and what makes ww far more fun to use.
Cyclone is too clunky. They should turn it into a channelling skill. Other than that, it's pretty solid.

They would have to rework the skill completely and not only that, but would effectively change a good amount of builds and coc trickster builds that uses Walk the Aether ascendancy point would be severely effected. Other builds would feel awkward since they have to be stationary and Blade Flurry already does a better job at that.



It is better to make another skill like Cyclone, but as a channeled skill with different effect and base damage.
Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

This post would look ok if the screen isn't cluttered with everything and you can't possibly see those tiny obstacles on the floor.
Not to mention layouts like Underground Sea map with it's narrow corridors and how that feels like with Cyclone, there are parts where you almost cannot possibly cyclone through. Freaking death tunnels.

It's actually not good for survival, at all. Did you try reaching higher levels with Cyclone?


I have no troubles with having to pay attention to the game, I don't play games that don't require that.

Either reduce the fucking monster density and skill effects so I can see those obstacles (walls including) and where I'm going at or adjust Cyclone to the current state of the game. But that's logic, we can't have that.
