Yes this is "low driver" scam and makes me wonder what GGG has against an AH when scams like this exist. It would be impossible to "low price drive" with an AH because the item you have no intention of selling with your fake price to mis lead ppl would get instantly bought. Anyways there are much more ways to flip without being a scumbag and ripping off noobs. Two ways I was fond of were rotating currency on main town board e.g. WTB 3 divine for 1 ex then WTS 2 div for 1ex later. Can be any currency just looking to make a little margin while farming. Then items at poe.trade. Can be any items. These days there are price alerts and poe.trade beeps you when item with criteria and price you are looking for appears.

noun wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain. Posting fake trade offers with the intent to mislead people so that a person can profit would definitely fit in that description. It wastes legitimate traders time, makes it harder for buyers and sellers to price items, clogs up the market because people need to search for legit sellers, and its just some dooshbag shit. But people in general are usually dooshbags when there is no accountability so it's to be expected. I don't like the idea of an auction house and GGG doesn't seem to either, but I think it would be cool for people to be able to posta limited number of buy offers on items in game, that are enforced and the currency is taken from you when the buy offer is made. The poe.trade site could list the highest in game buy offer on items and price manipulation would not be possible. Players would not know the stat values they would get from buying in this method but we would still have poe.trade for selling or buying an item with good rolls. |

" What is a wrongful deception? What is a criminal deception? What is the financial or personal gain? Also, proofing that it was a fake trade offer is hard. Even more so that its intent was to mislead people. Furthermore, all item prices are just made up. The only thing that have direct price relations are orbs, since you can uptrade them. So 3 wisdom scrolls = 1 portal scroll. 7 portal scroll = 1 Transmuation etc. Everything else is made up. In the end, seller and buyer have agreed on a price. Period. |
