" So if one boss in a T15 map is difficult the difficulty is where it should be ? First of all your example is very poor since PoE is a game where every build does not do every bit of content equally well. Some builds doing very well in T1-14 might not be suited for T15 bosses - especially Malachai. So your logic is not appropriate for this game. A build can be broken in many ways even though it cannot clear T15 Core. Second we Blade Vortex ES builds facetanking double Core Malachai and good old CoC+flask builds can still facetank uber atziri. Yeah - that is to easy. Third when people say the game is to easy it is because 99% of game content possess no threat what so ever. And it is not just to fotm / cookie-cutter builds. You could do T10 maps with basically any build out there and in good speed with close to no risk because the game has become so god damn easy. Things need to change. Where is the fun in facerolling 99% of this games content? There should be an occasional challenge. At least map-bosses should take some effort and should pose a threat from time to time. But they don't. Most map bosses die in less than 3 seconds with many different builds - Reave, EQ, Any bow build, Flame Blast, Spark, Arc, Freezing Pulse, trap builds, mine builds, flicker strike and so on. I am sure you can add a ton of other builds to the list. The point being - this has nothing to do with fotm / cookie-cutter builds. More or less any build is overpowered as hell at the moment. Why? Well because GGG has buffed character performance for a while without buffing the content we clear. Power creep is real. Now is it a better game than it used to be back in beta? Sure. Has the power creep gone to far? Absolutely. Notice how people often complain about Frost- / Flame- / shockbearers + Volatile Blood + Reflect + Porcupines because those are almost the only thing left in the game that actually can hurt you... mobs dealing damage after you killed them. Because nothing ever gets the chance to actually shoot / hit you when we kill things as fast as we are currently. The game is in a sad state really :( What do I want? Slow the game down a bit. At least with an opportunity cost so there is real risk involved in a very-high speed clear build. So there is a trade-off. There currently is close to no trade-off between a fast clearing build and a safe-clearing build. Buff bosses in a way so each map boss is a small 5-10 second encounter where you actually have to learn boss mechanics. Malformation boss is a good example (now that it cannot be knocked back into a corner). It is somewhat tanky. Hit's you very hard if you fail to dodge the mechanic but easy once you learn how to do it. Lower scaling on damage overall so you don't 1-shot all trash packs (or half to whole screen with Reave and EQ). To many gems have been filled with more multipliers and the increased modifiers have also gone a bit overboard due to Ascendancy classes. Make rare's tougher and more dangerous and implement real risk for ranged casters / bow users. More mobs with flicker strike or other means for enemies to close the distance between you and the mob. |
