Solution for Windows 7 vc_redist.x64 not installing/repairing/errors

hi! i got the same error earlier. then i checked all of what i typed and found a typo. after correcting that typo. it worked :) sorry for my bad english

It actually worked after a few tries 😃
A few notes (though you covered most of it)

-Remember to run cmd as admin
-Windows6.1-KB2999226-x64 for 64-bit win / Windows6.1-KB2999226-x86 for 32-bit win
-You need sp1 to install it
-Had a problem with the patcher after the fix (it opened twice and displayed an error)
Deleting PathOfExile.exe and renaming PathOfExile.tmp to .exe (instead of .tmp) fixed it.

well the 86 error some of U get is a typo error (syntax error) so pls triple check your command lines.

AND I say again: If your windows 7 (any version 32/64bit) is not up to date
with at least SP1 and the last updates from at least december 2015 u will encounter several errors with the new redist!
So first check all your updates before trying any FIX/Solution there is found on the internet!
This could make problems even worse.

yes i noticed this works for some people ... because u actually force windows to think its up to date. BUT this is not a good end solution for further updates ... because win7 support stoped there will be more problems in the future. best way to NOT have them is to get your windows up to date. If you for some reason dont want to do that, pls dont complain about games not working cause its your fault.

and getting a *pfff for trying to help people is very rude. Lots a people like myself or the non SP1fix dude spend hours trying to help U.

yes but this way worked for my pc setup. cause i've disabled any updates from services as well as many staff too.

Reason is that all my programs working in raid stripe array multiple boot's and don't want to fuck up my system cause GGG wants to update their client with visual style and shit. That was so unprofessional!


That frustration i did was for me, cause i thought in your OP you didn't mentioned W7 with SP1 (you edited later after i tried it)


And no i dissagre, it is GGG's fault! Right now GGG wanted to do this update, don't know why and what benefits are, but that was a stupid move to do in the last minute.

if the pc is working 100% perfectly fine/stable for more than 5 years why the hell should i mess with updates? I've seen many many years a lot of people who have a stable OS with no updates, after they tried to mess around with them, they fucked up their system and the solution is to format.

Well i'm not intended to fucked up my system yet, cause its way way more complicated than a "simple pc setup".

And it was better for me NOT to play PoE, rather to update in SP1 or do all the updates.

Hope you understand my situation. And the guy who really helped me with, i'm giving him a couple of racing items just for the credits :)

Well this ended up working, without any headaches or anything. And I understand it might cause problems in the future, i'll probably reinstall if GGG actually fixes it with its next update though.

The DLL copy to POE folder didnt work for me (dont know if I did it right).

What I did is go to POE folder, set the "client.exe" to compatiblity with windows XP SP3.
Then POE launched for me, updated by itself, even when I turned off the compatiblity the game is still runing for me.

Will check if I encounter any crashes/bugs during few minutes of play.

(I am runing Windows 7 proffesional without SP1 and probably tons of updates that destabilized the system for me in past).
